So it was 6 years this month.....
December 5, the day I had the cancer cut from my body. Dx stage 3 B, just a little over 2 weeks after turning 40. I did not join here until after my last chemo, when I really started to really freak out, wondering if I was not actively fighting it, how could it be stopped. I thought the chemo was the only thing that could…

Memorial Day 2014
Dear Friends, As we approach Memorial Day here in the USA, many will be remembering all those who have served in our armed forces. It has been a custom here to also remember those of our comrades-in-arms on this forum who have passed on since the last Memorial Day list was published. They all fought bravely against this…

A new direction for us.
Still in the hospital. Ugh I have 5 partial blockages in my small intestine and colon. The Doctors final choices are that I have stringer cancerous tumors binding the organs together causing the stricture or blockage at various bends. I have liquids seeping through and not flowing as normal. My CEA has lowered, my tumors…

I just got a call from Cyberknife at Lack's Cancer Center. They have turned me down for Cyberknife. Apparently since my cancer is in a node and there are several small cancers froming on my liver I am not a good risk for any sucess. They predict I have somewhere between three months and a nine months before...I...you know.…

Phil64 home from surgery (added pics)
As previously reported in an earlier post... Surgery on 12/5 was long (6 hours) and more difficult than previous two liver resections. Removed 30 to 40% of liver. Removed gall bladder. Lost three pints of blood during surgery... Ten days later I'm doing pretty good. I actually made it out of the hospital last Wednesday.…

Sundanceh/Craig
Craig, I am so happy to see you post even if it isn't much, I think about you most everyday, especially since we both have this weight thing going on (I'm still same as day I left hospital) and wish we could gain the weight back and keep it (I've gained in a week and then end back losing it again the next). I do miss…

Cryoablation done.
Had cryo on the 2 remaining spots on Monday. It was brutal over 4 hours. The liver tumor was very close to the bowel and doudenum. So they injectedsaline into the abdomen to seperate the organs and reduce the risk of damage. Than they flipped me over to do the chestwall tumor on my back which is just centimeters from my…

RRx001-21-02 trial I got selected for the new drug. Yes!
This is the trial I spoke of earlier. It's supose to target only low oxygenated cells and destroy them. I am going forward with this trial. I have been under extreme back pain that kept me from doing the Gerson Therapy and although they don't want me to do this chemo, I felt it was better to get better, athough, I'm still…

Biopsy on lymph node positive***UPDATE
for cancer, looks like colon cancer but cant be sure until we get pathology report~usually 48 hrs. Even though we pretty much knew this before the biopsy, it was still hard to hear. I had my meltdown while Robert was in recovery and when I went to drive around to pick him up, a transformer had blown in the dental school…

The Clear Scan Happy Dance!
Yesterday was pretty much a disaster, though a new record! It took them ELEVEN tries to get the IV in for my CT scan. After all of their "experts" gave up after multiple tries, they actually called the doctor to make sure she was really REALLY sure I needed the contrast. I did. Finally, a very lovely 25-year old tech came…

CA 19 9 marker, with CAPOX plus Avastin questions
1)How many CAPOX (Capecitabine plus Oxaliplatin) plus Avastin cycles we can expect it to begin lowering? what's your experience, or what did you read or the oncologist you trust more said? 2)Does that test requires, (or is better made) stopping taking some kind of pills for some hours or days, to avoid false marker values?…

Ice on mouth (avoiding sores, etc) while Avastin, before Oxaliplatin?
Hi, my mother is now receiving CAPOX (Capecitabine and Oxaliplatin) plus Avastin: first she receives Avastin, then Oxaliplatin Before this treatment she used other drugs, and with the first treatment for her the best way to avoid mouth sores and mucositis is the ice while the intravenous treatment (she tried mouthwashes…
