I just want to thank those who have had time and inclination/energy to update their websites in here! It's so helpful for those of us who follow others to know what happened when. I just realized, after reading Vicki's site that it is nice to know how things are coming along! Have a *wondrous* day, all!! Love, Marty

Breast Cancer Drug Could Trigger Lung Disease
I lost one of my aunts to the side effects of breast cancer treatment in January of this year. Her daughters allowed her to have a lumpectomy with resection of a number of lymph nodes and concomitant chemotherapy and whole body radiation. To a seventy-nine year old, it is like hammering nails on her coffin. Her death was…

I've been on Tamoxifen for about 3 months now and am having hot flashes about once an hour during the day and a couple of times during the night, I have episodes of night sweats. I am trying Remifemin to relieve that, but after two weeks, not much change. Should I ask my oncologist for something stronger?

Capsular contraction...implant discomfort
I have a saline filled implant that is quite firm and uncomfortable. Just had the nipple put on two weeks ago and it seems to have made the implant even more sensitive and painful. Apparently I have capsular contraction around the implant and was wondering if anyone else has this and how they deal with it. I get the…

Questions -2nd mastectomy, reconstruction & expanders
They are putting expanders under both muscles. The 2nd mastectomy will be done leaving my nipple and skin entact (scooping out). I was wondering how painful this is? I heard it's quite painful. After 3 weeks, every week I go in to have more saline injected into the expanders.

impending full node dissection
I have 6 more weeks of Adriamyacin to go before a bilateral mastectomy. Most of the docs on the team at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance think a full node dissection is in order on the left. One of them thinks I could get away with not. I had 8 clear nodes removed on the left before, 2 on the right. The people on the…

Liver concerns
Just received word from my doc that my liver enzymes are more elevated. He wants me to go to a liver specialist. Said that it might be a "fatty" liver. I don't know if that is good or bad at this point, but this is the first time he mentioned the specialist. Funny, the first thing I think about is some type of terminal…

Marty's neverending surprises...
Mhmmm... so, as I was saying on the previous thread re: Zoladex... it's been 2wks since I had the 3 little pellets implanted into my bum tissue to suspend my ovaries in hopes of averting premature menopause due to chemo. (I am 37) Then we had the perpetually pus-y weekend during which something "blew" under my abdominal…
