Skin Cancer (Basal Cell Carcinoma) treatment with Fluorouracil
Hi ya'll! Went to a dermatologist yesterday re:suspicious spot on my chest. It's skin cancer-my first. The dr. kept saying it's nothing to worry about, but the word 'cancer' in any context is much scarier for us survivors! The options: surgery or Fluorouracil cream. She recommended the cream since the spot is in a highly…

Getting ready to start taxotere
I'm 25 years old and I am about to finish my last round of AC on Monday. I will then go on to have 4 rounds of Taxotere. Is anyone out there that is currently being treated with Taxotere? If so, what should I expect? Is it any easier than AC? I really don't know too much about this next treatment, any input would be great!…

A swollen and sore lymphnode - biopsy?
I have fibrocystic breasts and I've had pain in them for years. I've been receiving mammograms since I was 35. They're so lumpy, even my doctor has trouble examining me. I have a lymphnode that showed up on my last mammogram. They told me it's been there awhile but that it changed the last time. I also have a pain there;…

Taxotere
newjersey25- Is this drug anything like Taxol? I think it may be. I had four rounds of Taxol and found it more tolerable than the AC. I hope you find a similar reaction with the Taxotere. Let me know how it goes. KC

Marty, I was prescribed Zoladex as an alternative to having my ovaries removed in order to stop menstruation and chemically induce menopause due to my ER+ status. I received monthly injections in the abdomen for 6 months which were effective in stopping any and all periods. That was two years ago and I have only had one…

Congratulations Tara! Glad you're feeling better. I found exercise to be a huge help during my chemo and recovery. Even something as simple as a walk outside can do wonders to lift one's spirit. Keep up the good work. KC

Hey ladies I've only been on this site for a couple of weeks but I've noticed the chat room is typically empty. Are we missing each other or just not chatting? RE: Zoladex
Someone was asking me about this. It is an injectable medication used to stop hormone production for those who are ER+. I opted for a hys instead because in trial studies 23% of the patients who got the inj. had tumor flare up (tumor got larger) suppossedly it shrinks back down, but you have to get the shot every 28 days…

Two Saline Fillable Implants on old & new mastectomies
When I had my 2nd mastectomy in August I had double reconstruction with Mentor fillable implants that stretch your skin. The 2 yr. old mastectomy just never gets as big as the new one. The plastic surgeon said it was because the muscle was weakened due to radiation. Anyone else past this stage and have the permanent…
