I need everyone to start a prayer line for my friend Jean. Jean was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1994,after surgery, chemotherapy and tamoxifen she seemed to be doing fine. Last week Jean found out her cancer is back. The doctor found a spot on her liver, one on her lung, and one on her kidney. She had a port put in on…

Ovarian Problem
Dearest sisters, First of all, thank you for all of your support and guidance. I write to you today to let you know that I went to my onc and was reshecduled to go in late November. The only problem with my check up was that they found what they feel is a benign tumor on my pelvic MRI. The tumor is large, 5cms, and they're…

still a little nervous
I am 14 months past my last chemo and radiation, but with diagnosis of stage IV, I have had some complications that have left me in "treatment". I am more nervous about reoccurance now than I was when I was going through the active fight. It all happened so fast that I didn't have time to think about anything except…

Still in Treatment
Just a short update. I am due to have # 3 of Adriamycin on Thursday. #2 was bad. Having had 6 cycles of this last year I thought I would handle it fine but each one is different. This one will be the last one I can have as I will have reached my lifetime limit of this particular drug. Where to from here??? It's a bit…

Still fighting.
I have now been breast cancer free for 13 years. I had a modified radical mastectomy with no reconstruction. I was on a tamoxifen protocal with the National Cancer Institute. My protocal was no lymph nodes involved and no Chemo with the tamoxifen. I was notified that the results were good with the tamoxifen alone for my…

Hello All
I just can't get over all the posts that have been left on this site since I came on board 1 year 5 months ago. Then there were just a couple of hundred. It still saddens me to think so many others must do what I have done. Just wanted you all to know that I have reached the last issue to be addressed after 5 long years of…

Hello Everyone, I've been checking this site each day and responding when I could relate to the message because of my own knowledge and experience. This is it - tomorrow is the big day ....
Hello my sisters! Ok, provided I get big enough kahuna's to show up, my surgery to remove the rib bone is scheduled for tomorrow morning. Apparently, the tumor(?) has grown and may be invading an adjacent rib. So, the docs say it is a 'must have surgery' at this point. Hopefully, it is some freaky benign growth and not a…

Reconstruction -Decision Time
My plastic surgeon is strongly advising me to opt for the inplants to do my bilateral reconstruction instead of choosing the back flap (latissimus dorsi back muscle) with a small inplant (silicone) for balance. He explained that with either surgery I should still expect future surgeries to replace the inplant eventually.…

Of course, I have hair, but seriously, I', sure I have lost about 40% of my hair. I will be seeing my oncologist in October, and thought of talking to her about changing to something. Someone in…
