Anyone see "Menopause - the Musical"?
My cheeks hurt from laughing! What a great show - 4 very different women who meet at a sale at Bloomingdale's and fight over a black bra. Familiar music with parodied lyrics like 'Puff, my God,I'm Draggin'; 'Please Make Me Over'; 'Stayin' Awake' and so many more. See it if it comes your way. Sue

HaHa ! Monday - I think we may all new a little humor, today.
Sorry in advance to our 'Warrior - Men' here on our site :-D Always remember these six important rules when asking a man to do something: ====================== Make sure your man is conscious. Crash the hard drive on his computer, or line the bird cage with the sports section. Be brief! Limit your nagging harangue to two,…

I am so disappointed
and tired of being lied to. 6:30 Monday is when surgery is scheduled to replace the tissue expander with an implant. At pre-op I learned that I'd be going home after 3 hours for surgery and 'up to 2 hours' for recovery. I called the nurse and asked if this was true whereupon she smugly informed me the only reason I…

What vibes would you get from a wimpish hug (very slight hug) from your oncologist?
I made an appointment to clear the air between my hematology oncologist and me. I thought it ended well. Then I asked for a hug. That hug made me feel like a leper. It had very little body contact. It was wimpish and extremely weak. I did not believe it. She is not afraid to touch me when she examines me. WHAT ARE YOUR…

Unhappy with Silicone implants-anyone ever switch them out for Saline?
Had a double mastectomy 9-9-09...reconstruction after expanders on 3-11-10. No nipples yet. Boobs look lumpy, moundish, small (750 cc implant)-I'm not a petite person so they look small to me. Considering swapping them out for larger salines. Doc says saline not as soft feel as silicone that was my initial reason for going…

Lumpectomy tomorrow
and sentinel node biopsy. Although I am anxious about the pathology of the node I am looking forward to having this beast cut out! Three breast surgeons, radiologist who did core bx and radiologist oncologist don't "think" it spread to the node but until the pathology is done no guarantees. I have decided to opt for…

No woman is an Island either....
Ladies, first off I really missed you all. It's funny how you make a connection to people just by posting on a board. I was in my shell for quiet some time now. I am just biding my time till I am reunited with the city that makes me feel alive. And woods and ocean... Though I didn't make a peep, I never stopped caring and…

3 more miles! I did it!
I participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk today here in Phoenix! Nobody went with me as they all walked with me in the Susan G Komen race for a Cure less than a month ago. I did not raise much money since again, everyone already supported me in a previous event. I did however run into a woman who I…

Was there HIP Pain before Diagnosis?
I had a friend who found out that she was stage four Lung Cancer though she had tried for years to find out what was wrong with her. It took years to get this diagnosis and she didn't live long at all. She was a very bright woman who did allot of her own research trying to find treatments that would help her though the…

asking for prayers again (results)
Last Monday I had my first scan since this flare-up started in mid August. There's some good news, the spots in the bones are stable, the lymph nodes have not become enlarged again, and my onc says we have lots of options available. The bad news however is that there is growth evident in the liver, both on the existing…

Had my lumpectomy with sentinel node biopsy done yesterday. I'm so glad it's over! I have a little tightness or numbness in my right hand (surgery done on right side) and in my right heel of my foot. Anyone else experience this? I know it doesn't help that I cannot barely move my arm because some lymph nodes were removed.…
