Dates and feeling thankful
Today marks 3 years since my breast surgery and I am donig very very well. I was stage 1b, Grade 2, ER/PR+, HER2 negative. Did lumpectomy, hysterectomy, chemotherapy, radiation and currently on Tamoxifen. These next few months have many dates that are amazingly now 3 years ago. Took me 2 years to stop worrying practically…

Miracles Really Do Happen!
This truly is a miracle! As police and the FBI try to piece together how the three women and a 6-year-old girl, who police believe is the daughter of one of the women, remained captive in a house for more than a decade in a densely populated section of Cleveland, the women were released Tuesday from a local hospital and…

swollen left armpit
I have a question for anyone out there. I have had a swollen left armpit for a little over 2 months. I am a 59 yr old woman. There is a history of breast cancer on my Mother's side. I went to the Dr about a month ago. He said it was a swollen lymph node and gave me a ten day supply of antibiotics. He said it was an…

Clinical Trials
I was told by a Breast Cancer Nurse Advocate that I may be illegible for a clinical trial where I would not receive Chemo and they would monitor me closely for ten yrs. That would mean I would only take the Anti-Hormone Therapy that I would have done before finding two cancerous Sentinel Nodes. I love the Idea but scared…

Latest update on my friend
He saw his urologist yesterday. He was told that the cancer was "very minor" (a new phrase for me about cancer). They are going to wait and watch him for about 6 months. The problem seems to be that his prostrate is so enlarged there is nothing they can do right now. He was given some meds to take with the hope they will…

Neck pain UPDATE
I have pain in the left side of my neck. It feels kind of like a really bad cramp that won't let go. It seems to be making my ear ache and it hurts when I swallow but doesn't obstruct my swallowing. I think it is centered around the tube in my neck for the port. I first noticed the pain on April 16th when I got my first…

Anyone else ever take herceptin, perjeta and docetaxel?
I did well with my chemo on Thursday, but then, starting Sunday, I began to feel really cruddy: Flu-like, nausea, diarrhea, extreme weakness, achiness. Hoping this post chemo crud gets better soon. But I am up and whining tonight, so maybe I am getting better? Has anyone else had these problems and, if so, do you have any…

OT - What is your most memorable Mother's Day?
For me, it was 1991! Hubby was deployed to Desert Storm and the Boys and I went back to my hometown. While there, the Boys got involved with BMX racing. On Mother's Day, they had a Mom's Race. You were supposed to ride your child's bike - don't remember how Sons decided which of their bikes I'd ride. Well, I was the only…
