DIEP Flap vs. Implants
Hi everyone - I'm new to the forums. I was diagnosed in October 2012. ER/PR+ Her2 - Stage 2B. I was positive in 3 nodes on the right. I had a bilateral mastectomy in December 2012. I'm working my way through chemo. Finished 8 weeks of AC - on week 5 of 12 of Taxol. Then I get 6 weeks of radiation. Right now I have tissue…

These are just a few tips to reduce the risk of Lymphedema, but, always check with your own doctor. * Ask your doctor or nurse for suggestions on daily stretching exercises. These can begin a week after surgery and/or radiation therapy, or whenever recommended by your doctor. Continue these exercises up to 18 months after…

Round One Done-Yay
I am home safe and sound after my first pertuzumab-trastuzumab-docetaxel. Had steroids and aloxi ahead of time. I don't remember any benadryl, but that is probably a good thing as benadryl hypes me up (I know it's weird). Did very well-just a little nausea and fatigue, but I felt that going in. Thanks for all of the…

Time for an update
Saw my onco Thursday. I have dealing with a mess between my benefits and Medicare for the past 3 weeks. This has been even more frustrating and stressfull than all of the cancer treatments combined. Don't want to do chemo.
I'm nearly healed from the mastectomy and I can't face chemotherapy. My port surgery is coming up and it makes me sick to think of it and all the side effects of the drugs. I'd rather not have chemo and take the easy way out if I do get sick. I know this sounds crazy but I just can't face it. I'm brave in every area of my…

I had visitors, and also visited my onc.
Sorry I haven't been on lately...my parents came to visit. We had a great time, and they were wonderful about giving me time to nap too! They drove all the way from Nebraska, about 3 days.
