My surgery update
Hi everyone! I should write an update of my surgery. It went well, I had mastectomy with reconstruction with expander. Sentinel lymph node looked ok, so they didn't take out the other nodes. But of course I have to wait for my histologic report. I'll have an appointment with both surgeons tomorrow, but I believe the report…

My doctor says not until the surgery. If it is possible, what is the procedure called? I read a posting about not removing the lymph nodes…

I hate living with one breast!
I had a left mastectomy about 6 months ago and am doing great. However, I hate having one breast left. I find myself thinking about it before I go to bed and it is the first thing I think about when I wake up. It is haunting me. I do 2 breast exams a day. My logical side says not to worry, but my "feeling" side is…

Path report not what I was hoping for
Hi! Just came from the hospital. The news is that they've found 2 tumors of different types. One is IDC (invasive ductal carcinoma), that one was seen on us and was biopsied to get a diagnosis. The other one is ILC (lobular invasive carcinoma) and the doctors had no clue it was there. If I haven't opted for mastectomy, it…

Hair is gone, but we expected that. I am slowly getting my strength back. I do not believe this is all chemo related as I was having lots of nausea, lack of appetite and heartburn before I started chemo. Great news is that my WBC is 6.3 and my Hct is 42-that was awesome blood that I received! Tomorrow, I start back on…

strange problem with toenail
I have not seen this problem addressed here before, but maybe somebody out there has an answer: My toenails have not been normal since I had chemo in summer of 2008. It seemed like part of the nail was dead and they were discolored. Now in the past several months I have developed a black spot underneath one of my toenails:…
