Mexoryl
I saw a segment on 20/20 one night about a month ago and it dealt with a drug called Mexoryl that is used in many sunblocks around the world. They have a very active community and would be a good place for melanoma survivors on this board to visit

Mandatory Scans
I've many issues with our current Health Care and where it seems we are headed, but I'm wondering if the American Cancer Society and perhaps Dermatolgists throughout the United States could band together (with our assistance, of course) to bring more awareness to skin cancers. Companies talk about "wellness" in the…

Non-sunbather with bcc - overreacting?

I'll be having MOHS surgery in 3 weeks, and since I'm told…

The Breslow No. - How accurate is it?
I had what was to all appearances only a very small lump removed five months ago from my forehead. The pathology returned a melanoma which was quite a shock. The path report gave it a Breslow No. 7, which I came to understand is BIG and therefore the prognosis bad. I subsequently had a PET scan which was clean and then…

Not as bad as it seems
Memorial weekend I was diagnosed with malignant malanoma .22mm on my upper lip. Treatment was a day at the U of M where several removals took place, followed by 25 stitches to close it up. That's it, no chemo or radiation which I thank God for every day. Now I'm feeling like my friends think I'm wallowing! It still…
