Remember a year ago??
Hey everyone, I had my surgery last year on May 20th and was in ICU for 9 days, so when I look at me now and how I was last year....I am better. Better than being almost dead. Didn't know if I would make it last year at this time. It's hard to believe that has been a year, but in a way it just seems like a nightmare that I…

Hi - haven't posted for a while, getting on with a very busy life! July will be 2 years since diagnosis - CEA still negligible, CT due in November. Basically - I'm living a full life, working full time (but playing for sympathy when it suits me!) - and this week I start learning how to ride a motorbike - and I've never…

Recurrent rectal cancer.....
My husband is a patient at MD Anderson. He went in for his ct scans (it has been 18 months since colon resection) The report said that there was an unidentified cluster of nodules in the rectum area that needed to be watched. I was wondering if any of you have had any type of scare like this and it turned out to be nothing…

Update on the scared one
Hey Everyone, The doc said that if I had been any other patient he would have patted me on the back and said "Take the 'roid meds and you will be fine" (o.k. he didn't exactly use the word "roid") BUT with my HISTORY he wants to do some BIOPSIES! AHHH! I HATE that word. It scares the proverbial poop right outa me. SO…

Update on Mom's Plan of Action
We met with Dr. Sugarbaker and he determined that she is a candidate for liver surgery and the peritoneal chemical wash. We know it will be intense but realize surgery can lead to a cure. He said it will be a tough surgery but the5 rounds of chemo have made things very very small. He talked about the cloning of colon…
