Lexapro
My question seems totally ridiculous in light of what most survivors are going through, but I wonder if any of you (or your family members) have taken Lexapro for depression. After a year of caring for my husband who was undergoing chemo for colon cancer, I lost him 3 months ago. I fight very hard to function normally, but…

Update on my sister
Several weeks ago my sister had a chest Xray and the docs spotted several nodules. She had had a chest Xray three years prior and there were NO nodules at that time. So a couple weeks ago they did a CAT scan. She finally got the results.... There were several 6 cm nodules the doctors said were calcified (not cancer). But…

Visit to Surgeon
We went to see my husbands surgeon today to setup his 6 month colonoscopy (should have had it in Dec. but we were in a head on collision and were not able at the time to make the trip.) Anyway, we saw the doctor and then went in to see his nurse to set a date for the colonoscopy. She told her some very sad news. The…

Wondering such things as immediate side effects, or whatever the new guy needs to know up front, other than possible side effects. I…

It's me again. When I got to my parent's house on Monday, my mom informed me that she had been having rectal bleeding for 4 days. Only when she has a bowel movement. I immediately made an appointment with her GI doc and she went to see him yesterday. He did an exam and said that he could see an internal hemorrhoid, but he…

Help needed, we are desperately looking for info on innovative cancer treatment. We were looking for a naturopathic doctor to complement our oncologist, but have had lousy luck. The only one in our town, Albuquerque was a nice guy with zero experience treating cancer. He is doing as much research as we are. The next one we…

stupid question....
me again... We always ask if when the CEA is raising does it means that the cancer is back...but....if the mark is under 3.5 and keeps going down...does it means that we "should" be cancer free ???? Or that the tumors are shrinking ???

1st Colonoscopy - BEST NEWS!
Apologies if this message has been posted twice. It didn't seem to work the first time. Just got back home from the day hospital after my 1st colonoscopy and received best news. I am dancing over the moon. Not a sign of a polyp or anything else suspicious, only haemorroids (can't spell this word) which may require…

How to interpret c-scans
I was told in November that a couple of spots were seen in the lungs, too small to biopsy. I had a c-scan last week and the report says nothing about the lungs, and the summary states: The CT-visible metastases remain confined to the liver in the abdomen and pelvis. My onc told me the spots in the lungs were still there,…

Bloodwork & CT Scan Results
I had bloodwork on 22 Jan 07 and all counts came back normal except red blood cells. Normal is 4.20 and I am at 4.02. My CEA is still 0.5, but this was never taken when I was DX, so I don't know if this is a good marker for me or not. First CT Scan was Thursday, 25 Jan 07 and Cat Scan Report indicates that my lung nodules…

We hope to get an appointment in next week or two. He has several mets to his liver , with the largest being around 2cm. I'm hoping that a liver resection is possible, but…
