Stage 4 colon ca survival rates
My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in May. He had a resection in 2001 and chemo w/ 5FU/Leucovorin. We thought everything was going to be okay when he reached his 5-year mark cancer free, but his CEA was elevated at the last check, so tests revealed the cancer popped back up in several spots in both lungs…

So I guess he's NED!
Hey everyone, Finally got the results of my husbands biopsy. It was dead fat tissue! Yeah! So I guess he should be dancing with NED tonight when he gets home from work, I think I will join him. I am still worried about the lungs nodules 4 to be exact but they did not light up on PET scan so for now I will put that in the…

In Jan. started FOLFOX chemo. Stopped chemo after 3 treatments due to terrible side effects. I have been doing well but for the last…

Chemo Side Effects
Hi Gang.... I know this would be a gross question on any other forum, but since you have all been there and done that... Is it normal to have loose stools almost two weeks after last chemo infusion? I don't have digestive issues so much during the treatment. It seems to creep up on me 10+ days out. Is this normal? Hope…

Bank Account of Life
This is AWESOME .... something we should all remember. A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away,…

My bowel has a very low IQ
I had an LAR in May, 2004. After all this time trying to retrain my bowel I realized that the part that they removed was the brain for bowels (30cms, but who counts these things?) Everything that is recommended here works to some degree or another. It is fantastic advice. Oftentimes I have been buoyed by it. At the end of…

Hi Everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I have been off chemo for almost 5 months now and I swear my chemo brain is getting worse, not better, especially when it comes to spelling and memory. My family is wonderful, but they are saying they see such a difference in me since I have started…

surgeon messed up!
Hi Everyone, Apparently my onc had requested that the tissue removed during surgery be sent to pathology to be tested against different chemo drugs to see what worked and what the cancer was resistant to. I know there's a name for this, but can't remember what. The surgeon forgot to send out the tissue and since it can…
