My DH was dx with stage iv colon cancer mets to the liver 12/08, two weeks after my father passed away(not from cancer). We were blindsided, to say the least. Colon resection, iliostomy, chemo once a week for 26 weeks. In the middle of that, right lobe liver resection and finished chemo in Oct '09. No evidence of cancer…

The latest just out from Dr. Lenz on upcoming trials at USC
Hello Everyone- I just copied and pasted what I received on my C3 e-newsletter from "The Desk of Dr. Lenz" at USC in Los Angeles. Radiation Update
Hi Y'all, Today I will be finishing my first full week of radiation to the liver. I did a half week last week. I am also taking 3000mg of Xeloda a day. Last week was very hard, probably because it was all so new. I have had a fear of radiation from the get go and been very grateful that I didn't have to endure that. I hate…

Questions about Camptosar and Xelonda
Last Wednesday, I had my first round of Camptosar by infusion and then 6 pills a day of Xelonda for 10 days. Supposedly, this was going to "easy" chemo for me. Technically, there is nothing there but we are doing this as a precaution as I had some leakage from a ovary cyst removal back in Sept. I took the infusion on…

So sad tonight
I'm so sad tonight. I went to a committee meeting for our Relay For Life tonight. I found out that one of the sweetest women I've ever met, was told today that her colon cancer will likely end her life in the next few months. She told us that she would see us at Relay in May, but she'd be looking down on us from heaven.…

Falling Apart
I tweaked my back this morning. The pain had me mostly bed ridden all day. The pain is relentless. I got up to use the toilet and smashed my toe into the door because I don't have complete control over my leg. My guts are hurting from cancer, and I would really like to use the toilet. I guess this is one of those days.…

This was told to us on September…

Tests?
I finished chemo for a tumor in my rectum in Jan. 2010. I was stage III with 2 nodes removed and the whole tumor removed. In three months, it will be time for one year tests. What tests should I expect? My doctor tells me I have a lot of scar tissue so he is wondering if I should even do a ct scan. He says blood tests are…
