Is getting the port out as simple as getting it in? Chris port has gone bad so they are taking it out tomorrow. He is a little nervous

    If its done properly,no,its easier
My surgeon removed mine in his office, using local anesthetic. Only hurt a bit when he twisted and turned it to get it out and he forewarned me. Stitches eventually disappear. Follow instructions given and perhaps a little pain til next day or so; nothing like its insertion,at least in my case...Best wishes...It feels SOOOOO good to have it removed.....steve

    The port was a simple
The port was a simple surgery. Mine is in my left shoulder. I left the outpatient surgery area an hour after the surgery.

It felt weird for the first two weeks. Every now and then one of our two dogs will jump on me and hit the port dead on, then it feels like a pin prick. Else it has little side effects.

    Best of Luck!
    Fight the good fight!
