Chemo delayed - tweaking it now
I've been having a very hard time with FOLFIRI now. I barely left my bedroom the first 8 days. And then the diarrhea hit. Every time I thought I had it under control, if I ate again, it hit again. I can't take Lomotil anymore, as it has Atropine in it, and I've had problems with Atropine eye drops, and the Lomotil now.…

About to head to the hospital, hoping to catch our surgeon on his AM rounds. Robert developed a hernia by his ileo and it kinked off his intestine. Now the question is whether to just fix the hernia or fix it and do a reversal? It is a loop ileo, and he's had it for two years and it keeps getting put off because of…

Why are tests so unreliable????
Hello, Been gone awhile. Working, working, working! I am a stage 3 colon cancer survivor; diagnosed April 08. A scan back in June 2010 revealed 2 small lesions on liver (1cm & 1.7cm). Doc at that time said he believed them to be blood vessels and wanted to just monitor them. Even though all bloodwork and CEA was good I did…

Spot on Face
I have put this subject off for quite some time and now I must face it (no pun intended) I have this reddish spot on my cheek about 1/2" away from my nose. It came and went for the past year but now it has decided to stay and of course I am thinking it is skin cancer. I have compared it to all the pictures on the internet…

I have had unbelievable support when I was diagnosed, during my treatments and with all of my appointments and I am eternally grateful to all of my family and friends for all of that!! Hi all! I am Suzanne and have been reading your posts for months, but this is my first post. I was diagnosed in August of '09 with stage 3 colon cancer. I had my colon removed and now have a bag. I went through 6 months of chemo (Folfox and oxi) and handled it quite well. I then had a reocurrance in my ovary and had a…

Back in the States and back to business
I'm back from Guatemala. I didn't have everything treated that I wanted but they did save my life for now. I had reported earlier that the Drs had abruptly changed my treatment plan and I got very sick. Well, the reason they changed my treatment was because they discovered a conglomerated mass of tumors in a terribly bad…

C Dixon Update on 6 weeks of Radiation Therapy and Drama
I hope y'all don't mind if I just copy and paste the update I put on my page. It is a lot to type again. 9/9/10: I had a successful liver resection and am recovering nicely. One of the lesions was close to the blood supply for the left lobe, so the surgeon could only get so close. He sent a biopsy of the remaining tissue…

Hey Everybody, In my quest to figure out what I need to do next at this point in my cancer fight, I just read through all 813 clinical trials listed under the clinicaltrials.gov website for either solid tumors or colorectal cancer(that number very well may be different when/if you do a search- it depends upon what you put…

Stuffed Mushroom Recipe
OK this is just a basic idea of how I make them because it all depends on how many mushrooms you have so therefore no measurements. I make about 3 pans 9 x 9 (or close to that) these are the amounts I would use Cut about half of the mushroom stems in small pieces (if stems are short cut more than 1/2) Chop Onion (I love…

surgery
I think everything will work out fine, but today I leave to go up North for surgery on Friday. Not looking forward surgery again so soon (was 5 weeks ago), or delaying chemo, but I am (hesitantly) looking forward to having my iliostomy reversed. I hope everyone does well here over the next week. Happy Veteran's Day…
