Triple Negative BC
I met with my surgeon today to discuss the MRI results and other things. Had another ultrasound to see the additional "suspicious mass". He did see it on the ultrasound, but he is not too concerned about it because its edges are well-rounded and smooth. So that's probably good news. However, he is conferencing with my…

Chemo - a restless, irritable kind of tired, anyone?
I just finished my second T/C on Friday afternoon and the fatigue which hit on Sunday was the same as last time, not a restful kind of "I can just crawl into bed and fall asleep kind of tired", but one of anxiety, restlessness and irritability. It's like I am so tired, want to go to bed and sleep, but I can't, not totally…

Iffy News for me today~my markers have been rising steadily, which is in my case a good indicator of where my cancer is. Though my oncologist says I am not yet at any emergency stage, and I can certainly stay on the Tamoxifen for another 12 weeks, he already wrote me an RX for Xeloda ...knowing that the Tamoxifen has…

Herceptin questions
Hi All New to the breast cancer board as I was just diagnosed. Stage 1, grade 3. Invasive ductal. Was told if I did a double mastectomy, I would be able to avoid chemo. Onc called today and said it's HER2 positive and wants to sit down and discuss further, but will probably recommend herceptin with chemo after surgery.…

Please help: Blood in Stool During Chemo
Hi sisters-- I have a concern that my Onco doesn't seem to stress enough. On my second AC treatment, I experienced chronic constipation - didn't go for 10 days! I was in a lot of pain - it was awful. Eventually, they asked me to take laxatives (double the dose), and stool softeners so eventually, that made me go. I already…

How many DCIS stage 3 that turned into stage 4?
Hi. As many of you know I was diagnosed with stage 3 and had my bi-lateral in August 2009. I have had radiation and been on Tamoxifen. I have had pain that seems to be getting worse every week so my onc took me off the Tamox to see if it would help with the pain. I have been off for three weeks and I can't say that I have…

For those of you who had lumpectomies - anyone have wire localization done the day before?
One more question for my friend who's getting ready for her lumpectomy in a couple of weeks: She goes to the hospital the day before her surgery for the sentinel node biopsy dye injection (I know some of you did this as well) -- but she also thinks they'll do the wire localization the day before, too. And then send her…

Bone scan on Friday for me...
I had my first follow up visit with the onc last Thursday. I've been having pain in my right ribs, well below the mastectomy. It's enough that I can't sleep on my right side...so I'm scheduled for a bone scan this Friday. Sigh. The rest of the visit went well. Of course I'm still dealing with the fatigue, neuropothy, chemo…
