Hi Sue -Im super glad your friend sent you here Like it's been said so many times before, it's a wonderful club here that none of us wanted to join. I also had no family history when I was diagnosed with Stage 2 breast cancer, I had it in my right breast & chose to have both removed with reconstruction, and 6 rounds of chemo. I was diagnosed almost a year ago (June 16), and now im healthy & on the mend, my hair is back (actually shaggy & in need of a cut!) and my new boobs look great! Please please let us know if there's anything we can do, ask away ANY questions you have, vent, cry, share & laugh on here -this is like a safe haven for all of us, a sisterhood where we all "get it" and know what you're feeling
*hugs*

Welcome, Glad your friend told you about this site. Gotta tell ya it got many of us through the treatment, surgery and the whole package. It will help you to. Not to mentiom the friends you make here. You sound very positive, and that a huge plus. You will have your bad days but if you can keep yourself moving forward, it's half the battle. This is what I was told by a CSN friend and she was right. I am 2 year out right now.Again welcome.

Welcome
to the site Sue. I'm glad Lorrie told you about us. I have received so much info, encouragement, and most of all the friendship of many who have traveled the same path. Unlike you, I was the 5th in my family with bc. I worry about my daughter, nieces and granddaughters and hope that someday soon there will be a cure. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this journey. Know that you are not alone and we are here to listen or give comfort and support.

Hi Sue,
I found a lump in my breast in Feb. I went to my Dr. and then had a mamo on Mar. 1 and a biopsy on Mar. 9th. It was cancer. On Mar. 22nd I went to the West Texas Oncology Center in Odessa, TX which is 172 miles from where we live in Fort Davis, TX I saw the ONC and Radiologist. I was told my tumor was unique because it was on the inside of my right breast. The radiologist ordered a PET scan which I had on Mar. 25th. I received the results on Mar 29th, PET scan was clean nothing in any other organs etc. On April 6th I had a lumpectomy and 23 nodes removed. All nodes were clean. Cancer is stage 2A On April 15th they inserted a mammosite and I had High Dose Radiation begining on April 19th thru April 25th twice a day for five days. We are now waiting on the oncotype DX test to make a decission on Chemo or just Hormone Therapy. I feel like I am doing pretty good, have healed well still some pain and numbness in my arm. I am glad I found this site.
