swim suit
Lumpectomy 2008 and another one (but this dr called it partial mastectomy) on same side 4 wks ago. I am very small chested-I am going on a cruise in May-I want to try on bathing suit prior to see if you can notice. With ever day clothes and bra I DO NOT think it's noticable.
I would assume any suit with cup or padding would surfice. I am 53 so Just basic one peice suit..any thoughts?
with just first lumpectomy I never even thought about it. I thought I would have LOST much more last month, so I am happy with results. HAPPIER that NO cancer of course. (JUST scar tissue from frist time)

Denise, a lumpectomy is a type of mastectomy according to cancer.org.
Is your lumpectomy causing your concern about wearing a bathing suit? I didn't exactly understand by what you typed if you are small chested and it bothering you or if the partial mastectomy/lumpectomy is the cause.0If it is, you could go to a mastectomy boutique and find swimming prosthetics and a mastectomy bathing suit. Be forewarned, though, the suits are super expensive.
Your prosthetics should be covered by insurance because you would by buying them for the parital mastectomy (lumpectomy) you had. You have the right to both sides looking the same.

There are a great selection of suits...
And, I found one that had a bit of a bra built in to the top....
BUT, no one notices the suit when you have a friendly, beautiful smile on your face, dearest...
I think it is sort of like braces when we were young....I remember when I got them off, what a proud day that was, and I expected everyone to comment. When only one person did, I asked my best friend why no one seemed to notice. She wisely said "It was more noticable to you than to anyone else. Sure, it was there...but there are very few people who are perfect, so no one bothers!".....
I carry that lesson to this day...and sat on the beach in Barcelona, on a topless beach, with my top off and all my scars showing!!! No one stared...*grin* and I have a FANTASTIC memory!!!

I had very bad bike accident when I was 12 (IN hospital 8 days) plastic surgeon etc..HE DID a great job...I feel like eveyone sees the scars *UNDER MY EYE-whole cheek bone and man made dimple (A PLUS)
everyone say new or old friends they never notice it..honestly the dr did an amazing job but I still know it's there...it does not change me in any way..just a battle early in my life...(knocked out for 3 days)
all good..NOW at 53 I have had 2 face surgeries, 1 dental front tooth, shoulder done twice, tubular preg and hystectomy & two lumpectomies.2 fingers have had surgery as well (more need to be done)..so scars are part of me for sure...lol hehe...

All my experiences are woven into the tapestry that is my life....I picture it with some bright colors and some darker colors, but all in all a beautiful piece of art!!!
Have a GRAND time on your cruise, dearest!!!
