Alone with stage 4 breast cancer sucks!
I'm new to this board, new to cancer, just diagnosed this year with stage 4 breast cancer. I've never had any symptoms, other than a lump. First medical provider did lumpectomy but then the oncologist told me they wouldn't do chemo because I was stage 4. I changed medical providers and have just finished 19 weeks of…

93 year old grandmother with breast cancer
I am a 1 year survivor. I had a double mastectomy so I know how physically and mentally difficult it can be. This week my 93 year old grandmother was diagnosed with a large tumor in one breast and small tumors in the other one. The family met with a surgeon today and he said he is 99.9% sure it is cancer. He is sending her…

Hi, I haven't posted for awhile, but I do check to see how everyone is doing (and I am always sending good thoughts your way, even when I'm not posting.) Anyway, I've been feeling pretty awful for past 2 wks (I"m done with treatment except for Fareston to block the estrogen). I can't tell anymore if it's just the flu, a…

I think we found one....
Since June of 2012 I have been on 7 different chemo's, had radiation, 3 surgeries and discovered that my cancer went from TN to HER2 positive. They say I am still Stage 2 but the breast cancer mets to my skin, a new LN and part of a rib. It seems that they were thinking that the cancer was chemo resistant. However, with…

I had bilateral MRI-guided biopsy on Monday. 2 days later right breast feels and looks fine. Left breast is one large colorful painful bruise. I kept an ice pack on it for hours and a tight bra; it is not helping much. Any ideas? Thanks!

Interesting Article on New Research
Dr. Ellis is the same one that introduced at the 2008 SABCS about taking estradiol (estrogen) to reboot a hormonal drug. I did try this myself but my drug didn't reboot. My oncologist would let me try it only by using my own estrogen. Maybe that is why it didn't work. However I found the following article interesting.…

Hi all again, You know me, I don't just listen to the 'powers that be', but have also been researching ANYTHING that may nelp my pretty desperate situation. I am looking at sativex, apparently it is a major good pain-killer that is mainly used for M>S> ... BUT; it also releases an enzyme that attacks and KILLS breast…

Chemo by your individual weight?
Saw something on TV a little while ago that there is a new study that says that many do not get the right amount of their chemo. What it said basically, was that chemo is/has been administered not based on actual weight but rather on 'ideal' weight. I was surprised at the info as when I did chemo 4 yrs ago, I was weighed…

Name Brand Daily Vitamins Vs. Generic Daily Vitamins
I was just wondering what some of you think about generic daily vitamins (like the Wal-Mart Brand) vs. a name brand daily vitamin (like One A day). I know there might be a difference in fillers, but wonder if it is worth the extra money to get a name brand. I checked labels and they have the same amount of vitamins and…

Off Topic...Beau's new heart....
11 weeks ago, my beau was just out of transplant surgery. He is doing EXTREMELY well, and I catch myself glancing at him and realizing that without this surgery, I would be left only with a memory. What do you take for arthritis? Does it help?
I had a bone scan awhile back and it showed a little arthritis. I've been taking tylenol for it, and it works ok, but, I wondered what the rest of you might be taking and how it works for you. I just hate to take it everyday. I know it can't be good for my stomach. Thanks, Leeza
