I am teary eyed about everything. I have guilt when I am not living my life with perfect food choices, when I dont exercise,…

My mom's chemo doesn't seem to be working
15 years ago at the age of 37 my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had a double massectomy. I was only 13 at the time and didn't really understand what was going on. I remember seeing her sick and being scared. In her late 40s while I was away at college she had surgery to remove tumors from and replace vertibrae…

Seems to be working... Yay. Maybe the 'happy pills' are kicking in? Maybe spending more time with the horses is therapeutic? Maybe NOT having…

Some facilities do know about LE
Friday afternoon I had eye surgery at a private surgical hospital. (Long story that I won't go into publically now, other than to say my current DR is FANTASTIC.) Anyway - so many say that they have had issues with staff not knowing correct handling of those with LE (LymphEdema). I had my sleeve/glove on when I got there…

Chenheart's Birthday - Today, August 23rd
The first birthday since her passing, about a month ago (July 25th). Our beloved Chen joined CSN more than 10 years ago, as a newcomer to breast cancer - as the vast majority seem to do. Most find this forum during the earliest segments of their journeys. Then, when treatment and recovery are complete - many depart. Many…

I took a job in February of this year with a Hospice in a nearby town. It consumes a lot of my time. I Occasionally run into cancer patients of course and having heard the scary…

Beginning to feel more energetic and hopeful!
Finished taxotere and neulasta. I was scared to death of the final round as I suffered a flu-like syndrome last round with a fever for 14 days and extreme, extreme weakness. Turns out I was also severely hypothyroid (test 10X below normal). I have had thyroid issues since 1984 and my thyroid was stable (on meds) for 20+…
