Yay!!! We are all celebrating and her wedding in April is getting closer. BTW, I have an appointment with a geneticist on Feb 28th to see if he recommends any new testing. My sister and I were BRCA negative, but we have a strong family history, so I want to see if there is any other testing I can do to help my younger…

Yay, NED!!
Two weeks ago was my four-year mark, and this morning was the annual mammogram. Hmm. I should always go on a holiday -- today I got the email back in a couple of hours instead of a couple of days. All clear. Whew. I do get very nervous about the mammogram and rather unfit to live with (just ask my husband) until the…

Husband in need of advice
My wife was diagnosed with breat cancer about a year and a half ago. She was 28, almost 29 at the time, and we were trying to start our family. Since she was young the oncologist we were referred to wanted an agressive treatment and she started chemo one week later. When we first met with him to discuss the treatment plan,…

6 months post chemo. and alot of pain
So it's been about 6 months since I finished chemo. About 6 weeks post-chemo, I started experiencing severe joint pain. Mainly in my hands & wrists, knees, and hips. I was on pretty heavy duty painkillers for a few months, and it started feeling better, so I was down to taking a combination of ibuprofen and tylenol to…

BREAD
Hi Everyone, Just thought I would pop-in to ask my question. I know I will get very good answers from many of my pink sisters. It is so frustrating to me when I buy bread at the grocery store because I cannot find bread WITHOUT Soy and Flaxseed in it. Does anyone have this problem...or do you not care if it is in your…

Lifestyle changes
PJS2005 asked about whether we survivors have instituted any lifestyle changes since diagnosis, so I decided to start a separate thread to hear what others have done and tell you what I've done. I have indeed changed quite a few things, not only because of my breast cancer diagnosis, but it certainly played a significant…

OT-Olympics
I turn on NBC the olympics are suppose to start in 10 minutes. The local newscast is reporting all the results from all venues so far. It is ruining the olympics. It is like walking into a movie and being told the ending when you get your ticket. Cant believe how frustrating this is! If they cant wait to report, then maybe…

Husband status
Olga, thanks for asking about my husband. I'll post this as a new thread in case anyone is interested because I have some observations now as both a survivor and a caretaker. Hubby has now had 15 of 38 radiation treatments for prostate cancer. He is 70 and this cancer will probably not kill him but like many of us, he may…

The Gift of Friendship.
I hold back from posting what is really going on for me because it is not breast cancer related and so many wonderful women on this board are dealing with their own mortality with stage 4 breast cancer. Fight Dat
ACS in my area is selling the most adorable shirts. They have a fleur de lis and say "Fight Dat." I ordered them for my sisters and, of course, one for me. I can support my beloved Saints (Who Dat team) and cancer at the same time. I love it!
