    UPDATE 26 April
    Hello everyone,

    I just spoke to Mike a few minutes ago.

    I told him he needed to get his butt up that the fish were biting good here in Tampa Bay.

    He sounds pretty good, but still has some issues with the colon blockage. They ran some contrast through him earlier today I believe looking for the source of blockage.

    His pneumonia seems to be under control and as he says "I can breathe now", which I told him was always a good thing.

    We couldn't talk much, the nurses were in to give him some meds....

    He's still having some issues court related from the past that is scheduled for early May. So keep him in your prayers for that and for him to have the strength to deal with it and everything goes favorably for him.

    But just wanted to give you all a quick update.

    Yes he is doing well today, I been worried as I could not get in touch with him for days, just called him tonight and his voice sounds strong. He needs our prayers, like John said he goes to court again next week and needs to be out of the hospital.

    My brother brought his laptop up to the hospital in between his college classes so that I could say hi to you all.

    Thank you for calling me, it breathed life into my depressed mind and failing body.
    I am still in critical condition as I am down 85lbs. and for some unknown reason all the nerves in my intestines decided to stop completely. The doctors are doing everything they can but I appear to be losing the battle. The doctors have done some emergency plumbing and now have some of the waste being re-routed back up through my stomach and piped out my PEG into a collection bag. I have no idea whats in store for me as the doctors tell me they have never seen a complete nerve shut down in the intestines.

    I miss you all! I must get off here as my brother has to leave for class.

    Good to have had the few conversations with you lately. Hang in there bro and keep fighting the fight. They can do a lot with that area technology wise, hopefully they'll figure something out for you soon and get you some much needed relief.

    I just got off the phone with Mike again. I will tell you the man has to be made of steel. He is still in the hospital, and I think he said that his port got infected, and they had to put in a new one in, and that he had an infection in his blood. Nutrition is still a huge issue. He is not getting enough. He said his throat is still very sore and eating even what people think is soft food is feeling like gravel in his mouth. I think we can relate to that, I know I can. It doesn't seem like anyone is helping him eat the things he can eat. Then the other day they tried to give him something with iodine in it again!

    Please continue to pray for him, and his children. He is an extrodinary person. I am sure a call would brighten up his day as well.

    Hi Sweet

    I was wondering what the problem was that I could not get through to Mike; then he told me he just got off the phone with you. He really enjoyed talking to you but was sorry he was falling to sleep while you were talking, to much med’s. As you said he is a very remarkable guy to be going through what he has and still have a good attitude about it. His intestine is still blocked the hospital has done a few colonic irrigation on him so far with no results. His radiation doctors looked at him today and are planning another scope to try and get the blockage moving.

    To all please keep Mike in prayer that God will show the doctors just what to do to get his bowels moving again.

    I could tell as he was telling me stories that he was getting tired. I think we were on the phone for an hour. I did not use my cell phone cause I cannot get good reception down here. Wait till my dad gets that phone bill. LOL. I better give him the heads up so he doesn't have a stroke. :) I told him I would call him again in a couple days.

    Hondo and all, thank you so much for the updates on Mike! I cannot believe all the trails this man and family have had to struggle with. Mike is one heck of a stron person and when I grow up, I want to be just like him...lol. I will continue to keep him and his family in my prayers and I will call him tomorrow. He truly is an amazing person!! You are all in my prayers.

    I called him just before 10pm my time. He actually did not sound good tonight. He was coughing up a lot of stuff, and his voice was weak. I could hardly hear him over the noise in his room. He was coughing so much I did not want to keep him. Keep those prayers and good vibes coming.

    Please let Mike know that he is in my prayers daily. I won't let myself believe that he could lose this battle. Not after what he has been through, he has fought so hard for everything.

    We all need to keep our thoughts positive for him and believe that the doctors will solve his problem tomorrow with the surgery. We need the power of everyone's positive energy flowing his way.

    Hi Sweet
    Mike fell down last night I don’t know how bad he was hurt, just too week to stand up and I guess like most men not wanting to ask for help. He did do the surgery and they move him to another room so he could be monitored better. That is all the news I have for now, I have no other way to contact him until tomorrow.

    I want to thank you so much for taking the extra time to call and talk to him, it really mean so must to someone who is so far down to know others care. I do tell him about everyone here praying for him and wishing him well, it brightens up his day and brings a little more sunshine into his life.

    Get well Mike we are praying for you
