    We live about 20 miles north of Ann Arbor in Brighton, MI, and also have a house up in Traverse City where I am headed for the remainder of my mastectomy recuperation on Saturday (yay!). I'd much rather look out at the lake and recover than hang out looking at the weeds in my backyard!

    I was born in Philadelphia, PA (my dad did his residency there). My dad took a position teaching at LSUHSC and taught neurology for many years. Thus I have lived in Louisiana for many years. I am an NNP.

    Dad was from Savannah. My mom was a nurse from Virginia. They met at Duke University.

    My husband's family is from New Orleans and he was born there. Our daughter, a P.A. student, was also born in N.O.
