His theory was that these supplements, while protecting healthy cells from damage will also try to protect the Ca cells that radiation is trying to destroy. I refrained…

Hi, I had a nerve sparing radical prostatectomy about 1 1/2 years ago. I am now 41. After the surgery my doctor told me that there were at least 3 options to deal with erectile dysfunction; the pump, injections, and oral meds. He started me on a low dose of viagra because he said that has been shown to increase the…

Turp/Bladder spasms
Anyone know how to keep these spasms away after Turp procedure? I have been told it is caused by room temp or cooler saline solution they pump thru the patient. This was told to me by a nurse who worked in an urologists office. Going to ask the nurses to wrap the bags in warm towels to see if this helps. Also told Dr he…

Husband had prostrate removed in 09, psa rose in 2012, radiation done, Started passing blood cystscope reveiled possible bladder cancer, biopsy proved prostrate cancer instead. There are some positive testimonies about Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) on this Forum, but little info about clinical studies, especially ones comparing PBT to more established external beam therapies. Screening of the PSA
I believe many survivors are familiar with the name Paul Lange MD. Not just for his published papers on cancer researches, or his book "Prostate Cancer for Dummies", but also from being one of the pioneers of the PSA assay. Interestingly he also belonged to the group of urologists that at beginning did not believe in the…
