Click here for article This is a very interesting article about how the Diabetes 2 drug, Metformin, has shown great promise in preventing colon cancer in the early stages. Surgery tomorrow
Well, a little over three months since my initial diagnosis and I am going in for surgery tomorrow at 8am. Colon resection, ostomy (hopefully temporary), and a single liver met resection if its feasable. I would be lying if I said I wasn't a bit worried. I guess I am just now coming to realize the reality of this whole…

Maybe this little video can put things in perspective (get some tissues for your eyes)
Its from Dr Mercola's site mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/09/06/patrick-henry-hughes-has-abilities.aspx I'm sure there are others equally poignant....... Or read the short book:"The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" by Jean-Dominique Bauby, written by the author's blinking of his left eye due to "locked-in syndrome"

My bag keeper
Hey, If any one is interested, I put a photo of my “night time bag keeper” on the expressions page. The blue fabric is stretch nylon from an old swim suit of Susie’s. The other is from a T-shirt. You adjust it with the 4 Velcro tabs. The stretch nylon keeps it tight but lets the bag fill with no problem. This will keep the…

Well, after this last refusal from stanford, just let me say, I'm tired of the upbeat crap we feed each other. I'm going to die, because I'm stage IV, and by golly we don't look at less then stage III, doesn't matter how well I did with chemo, doesn't matter about my CEA count, what matters is my stage, and gee, sorry we…

Not Cancer related but freaking me out anyway
So, you would think that after all I have been through that I would not still be freaked out by going to the dentist. Not so. More tales in the ongoing saga of living with a bag:
I get very protective of my stoma area when out doors, near other people. I try to avoid crowds and if anyone is on my left, where bag lies, I usually place a hand over stoma area to protect it and to push away,if need be, anyone getting too close. One of my neighbors has a son who is mildly autistic, Max. We get along…

How many of you have had problems with your port and have had to have them replaced? Anyhow, these past two times when they…
