Relay For Life!!!
Hi, everyone! Hope to catch up on all the news soon. I'm still recovering from Friday night's Relay For Life. I stayed all night with a few members of my team, and it was awesome. The survivors' lap was so emotional, as always. More members of our church came than before, and it was so lovely to see them waving and…

good news
I've been doing Xeloda, Irinotecan and Avastin for 12 courses every other week and even though they had to reduce the Xeloda to 3/4 strength and the Irinotecan to 1/2 stength to minimize side effects, my tumor has gone from significant activity and 2 x 1.6 cm size to moderate activity and only 1 cm in size. The lymph nodes…

Port-- dfficulty drawing blood from it..
The "medical assistant" has extreme difficulty drawing blood from my port. I've asked for trying to work this out with different positions, but she seems to be too busy to want to find the best solution. The onc said the "clot busters" aren't effective....radiolgy dept nurse recommended Retalase, but I had forgot the name…

I need help with appetite
I feel like I shouldn't need this kind of help when I have been in treatment for so long, but I rarely had appetite problems before. Now it seems to be an on-going problem, off and on. The dietician at my cancer centre has given me all kinds of samples to try - ensure, boost + several others. None of these appeal to me. I…

I forgot
I was busy catching up on the forums and had forgotten to mention - I am home form MSKCC! What a good feeling that is! Things are moving along. I even mowed the lawn yesterday. It took all day and it is normally a one hour event, including the trimming, but I count it as a major accomplishment considering I had been home…

No Chemo or Chemo Lite if you were in Remission?
Got some good scan results today. Doctor says I'm in remission, said all the tumors melted away. He gave me a choice of a chemo vacation or chemo lite. I choose the lite, just a little scared to be completely off of if. What would you do if it were you? Do you think I choose the right thing? Thanks for your opinions! Viv

Hi all, I'm asking for a little help tonight... Unfortunately, Rick's scans today revealed tumor spread in the peritoneal cavity, so he'll be starting back on chemo in a couple of weeks. Jaundice
Hello, I have recently been diagosed with Jaundice. I go into hospital tommorrow for a scope to see if my gallstones are blocking my bile ducts. more questions
if a Dr. says "6 months left to live and you've already used 2 of those" what can I expect? I mean, I know that they don't really know "when" but they have to be semi-close, right? (this is for my Aunt who has stage 4 colon cancer and it's already spread to various other organs including throughout her liver). the Dr. also…

anyone know % of people with KRAS
I'm happy for Linda's son that he about to start Erbitux. I think the way it works is a good arsenal against fighting the tumors. I was highly disappointed yesterday, found out I have KRAS-mutation, not the "wild" type. I will not be able to use Erbitux. I'm feeling really low, nothing goes my way. Have to start on…
