Woke up with cold symptoms - started chemo Friday/please help

They drew my blood but I don't know what my cell count was. It was ok three or so weeks ago. I guess this was bound to…

I also have 1 liver mets, has anyone heard of them doing that the same time. I just want it gone before I go totally crazy. Then I start on the folfori for 24…

Is anyone else foating adrift?
That's what it feels like since there really isn't anyone directing my care. I haven't seen my oncologist in almost two years and my surgeon has been doing my scan requests the last year or so and said he'll continue for now but he's a VERY busy guy. My GP is clueless and just goes along with whatever I say. Here's the…

Holidaying in Mallorca on Chemo and picc lines
Hi everyone. I have just had surgery for cancer of the colon - dr's say they don't believe it's spread, but are giving chemo for 24wks anyway - although the drugs they're due to give me are for 'advanced colorectal cancer'!..I'm assuming they think my body can take the onslaught as I'm (only!)41! - so are going for the…

Weird scan results--anyone else?
Pet results this week. Lung nodules about the same with small increase in uptake. Same on bone mets. Not really surprising since my chemo has been hit or miss because of side effects. Surprise was a met in my shoulder muscle. Had an MRI yesterday to confirm and it's 10mm x 16 mm so I'll go to the radiation oncologist next…

I could see me getting this friggen disease if I was prone to polyps or if I had some kind of bowel issues...colitis, irritible bowel disease or something. But, nothing. SIR Spheres
My wife had the spheres injected today. The procedure went as planned and will follow-up in 6 weeks. The doctor said it really takes 3-4 months to see the results, so we'll stay tuned. In addition, he said the six-week checkup CEA will become the new baseline to determine tumor metabolic activity. Best to everyone.

Hi everyone. I haven't posted in awhile. I've been on chemo break since January 13th. I went back for MRI yesterday. She told me that she took 1100 images. I see Onc in the morning and get labs done. I am so scared. My last MRI 12 weeks ago showed 15 lesions still in both lobes of my liver. I haven't had treatment for 4…

Just Diagnosed; Questions about laxatives, diet, and narcotics
I just found out that I have colon cancer. The tumor is almost completely blocking my colon and the doctors have me taking 4 laxatives per day, want me if possible to avoid narcotics, and say I should eat a low residue diet. The problems I'm having; All of the laxatives make the stomach cramping worse than it already is.…

Testing blood to determine best chemo
Hey, anybody ever heard of this? Not sure exactly awhat they call it, I believe it was profiling or something. It's done in Greece. They take a sample of blood and test the cancer markers in the blood to determine the best course of chemo. I just had a naturopath talk to me about it. -Dawn

Fought it to the end
My Dad was a great man whom in his last days would have drug himself to another treatment on his elbows. The time came all too quickly when the Doc explained we were at the time he had told us about. He passed on May 9th, 2012 after 7 days in the hospital. He had been off of chemo for 3 weeks but his strength was not…

Another Surgery
Well, the results are in and more tests are needed. I continue to recover from the resection surgery well. The stapes are removed, I have been cleared for light driving, and I’m feeling pretty good physically. Unfortunately the lung nodule has grown larger from 12mm (per X Ray on 11/3/2011) to 18mm (per CT scan on 5/21).…
