Options for liver mets
Steve is still in the hospital with the blood clots. He was granted an LOA this am to meet with the liver surgeon. He did not feel that resection was an option,at this time, due to the extent of the disease. Felt Steve would be left with an inadequate amount of liver. Feels even sequential resections would be difficult in…

How long does your chemo treatment take?
Just curious - my husband typically has a 2 to 3 hour wait before chemo starts. So a 2 1/2 hr treatment can easily last 6 hrs. Is that typical? It's a bit frustrating. He gets early morning appts - usually 9 or 9:15. And then he sits there until almost lunch time some days. He is doing folfox plus 30 mins of avastin. He…

Second Colonoscopy and Update
Today I had my second colonoscopy (1st and history http://csn.cancer.org/node/251118). As few posters suggested in the earlier thread, the doctor seems to want to confirm and verify the first diagnosis. Having read and seen the earlier scans and colonoscopy and read the histological report, he does not seem too impressed…

That is what she told my wife after I asked if surgery is an option. She also told us that long term chemo treatment is only for "curable" cancer patients andthose with uncurable…
