CAM: Cimetidine (Tagamet)
I have heard several people discuss adding Cimetidine (Tagamet) to their treatment for its possible anti-tumor action ... could those who use it or are familiar please discuss it in really simply laymen (or laywomen) terms? The medication has been spoken of favorably and also suggested to newcomers. Seems it would be nice…

Mammogram
I'm scheduled to have my mammogram on Thursday but I'm as nervous as this was a scan. I've felt my breast so much in the last 3 months that I've got it aching trying to find any little thing wrong. I'm getting to the point where I'm just so afraid of any doctor's appointment and my anxiety level is so high. I'm just…

Off topic....but you guys have such strong powers....
My beau of 22 years is not doing well. He was dx'ed in 1980 with heart problems that, over the years, have come and gone...always knew a day was coming when there would be a big event.... While we were on the cruise the end of February, he slowed down, barely making the tour of Jerusalem. He was short of breath, and his…

Chemo advice

It's taken 3 months for a plan for my husband to be put in place and yesterday he had his first chemo treatment (4th go around - dx 9/2009 stage 3. 2011 stage iv liver resection, and now 2 mets to lungs and one 5 cm met to liver). So the plan is 4 cycles irinotican, xeloda, avastin. He's never done irinotecan…

Somewhat Discouraged
I know you've all been there. It's just so heartbreaking to see my once strong, fearless husband unable to even stand on his own. He is really struggling. He was given an Ambien for sleep last night. He was again semi-concious & hallucinating most of today, so Ambien is definitely on the NO list. He is still getting…

Please comment on my options
Please comment on my options Today, Saturday (01.05.13) I have my clinic visit after surgery. My surgeon was happy with the healing process. He unpinned the incision and sent me to the oncologist. With all the tests, histopathology, and reports, he said my staging is certainly stage IIA (T3N0M0).LVI indeterminate. He…

Abscesses?
Just wondering if anyone has developed abcesses on their body while on Folfiri + Avastin? Pat had to be admitted to the hospital, on iv antibiotics, and have 2 of the worse abcesses surgically removed today. I asked the surgeon why so many abcesses developed at one time. Stable is a good word
At the end of the 12th cycle of the trial drug TRC 105 with avastin, the CT showed no growth in the large liver tumor and a .2cm shrinkage in the smaller one. Other "multiple" hepatic lesions continue to show signs of central necrosis (DIE, you %#!@#), and CEA is down to 2.1. No new metastisis appreciated. Happy dance!…

Good news, bad news
The good news is that the result of the test is back and I am a candidate for Temozolomide (= Temodar = TMZ). That doesn't mean it's going to "work" -- but the test identifies those for whom it will NOT work. As some of you know, I actually had one cycle already, while I was waiting for the results. I didn't want to be on…

Ileostomy fears
I've been posting on this forum for my mom, who is 57 years old and has stage IV cancer and was diagnosed in February. Due to high…
