Please comment on my options
Please comment on my options Today, Saturday (01.05.13) I have my clinic visit after surgery. My surgeon was happy with the healing process. He unpinned the incision and sent me to the oncologist. With all the tests, histopathology, and reports, he said my staging is certainly stage IIA (T3N0M0).LVI indeterminate. He…

Best to all -- Cynthia It is spring again. The earth is like a child that knows poems by heart. Annalexandria kindly provided…

This onc (Dr. Tim Asmis) completed a fellowship at Sloan. Knows and loves Dr. Nancy. Speaks highly of the HAI pump. We updated him as to what has been going on with…

Abscesses?
Just wondering if anyone has developed abcesses on their body while on Folfiri + Avastin? Pat had to be admitted to the hospital, on iv antibiotics, and have 2 of the worse abcesses surgically removed today. I asked the surgeon why so many abcesses developed at one time. Stable is a good word
At the end of the 12th cycle of the trial drug TRC 105 with avastin, the CT showed no growth in the large liver tumor and a .2cm shrinkage in the smaller one. Other "multiple" hepatic lesions continue to show signs of central necrosis (DIE, you %#!@#), and CEA is down to 2.1. No new metastisis appreciated. Happy dance!…

Good news, bad news
The good news is that the result of the test is back and I am a candidate for Temozolomide (= Temodar = TMZ). That doesn't mean it's going to "work" -- but the test identifies those for whom it will NOT work. As some of you know, I actually had one cycle already, while I was waiting for the results. I didn't want to be on…

Ileostomy fears
I've been posting on this forum for my mom, who is 57 years old and has stage IV cancer and was diagnosed in February. Due to high…

Devotion10- my apologies!
you may not know this but most of the people on the post from 2009 have passed on. It is usually painful for people to see their posts. That is why it is best to start discussion with a new date. You will probably get the same good information.

Update On Hubby
It has been decided that hubby has Sepsis, possibly from chemo port, but not sure so he's receiving broad range antibiotics. He is feeling a little better and coherent. 2 litres of fluid was drained from his abdomen today. He was allowed tiny sips of water, but chokes, so mostly mouth swabs. Because his mouth is dry, he…

Diagnosed One Year Ago Today 4/11/2012
Hi everyone - It has been 1 year since I had my colonoscopy and dreadful rectal cancer diagnosis. It seems like just yesterday. A lot has changed in this past year - I was working full time, now I'm not - I looked at life a lot different - death was not on my mind at all, now I look at each day like it could be my last. I…
