Two types of cancer.
I was just diagnosed with two types of cancer. I've been told that it is very rare that one person would have two types of cancer. I'd rather not have any but, here we are. I was diagnosed through a colonoscopy and was sent to a colorectal surgeon. He in turn sent me to a Radiologist, but I'm getting ahead of myself. My…

Vectibix/Low ejection fraction rate
Is anyone on Vectibix? My brother has been on it for a few months and is having issues with a rash, which is much worse than the Erbitux rash he once had. He's on best friends terms with his dermatologist these days. But worse, his magnesium is very low. He's had to have several magnesium infusions over the last couple of…

Hi everyone. Happy New Year! We are back from our trip to England and spending the holidays with my daughter and her husband. We had a wonderful time. For the last month I was able to put the day to day thoughts of cancer out of my mind and just enjoy the time with family. We arrived home Sunday, landing and getting home…

Bet this has never happened to anyone on here....
My husband has chemo tomorrow and went to get his chemo pump to take with him in the morning. Looked everywhere for it. No where to be found. Then he remembered he must have thrown some trash on top of the pump that was in one of those big white bags. Well, the trash was picked up the day he got the pump off! Who throws…

A new year and reflecting on the past here
6 years ago today, I became a member of this board. I have been looking back at the old posts and remembering not only the caring and support I received, but also noticed that then we often put out posts which were just interesting (funny stories about our pets for one) or something which might be inspiring. Here is a post…

Need some help
So last year my Mother was experiencing some symptoms of weight loss and a lump in her Lower abdomen, and always feeling tired. She went to the ER in May of 2015 and they discovered her blood levels were incredibly low, and this was due to internal bleeding by a tumor pushing down on her colon. They operated on her that…

A Year Ago Today
A year ago today I had recently woken up from the coma but was still in ICU and unable to move. To cheer me up the staff and my family decided to let my horse visit me. This is the link. When it looks like he's got his face in my lap what he's doing is trying to pull the blanket off.…

Thank you all so very much for the years of support. For being there for me, and allowing me to be there for you. I hope and pray that I can continue being here for…

7 Years Today
Hello dear friends: I've not been on in quite some time. My brother's passing this year from cancer and my husband's diagnosis and surgery with cancer has left me numb. Also the fact that I'm not able to give much adivce on the new treatment out. What was offered me years ago is a different protocol. I've not heard of the…

Staging
I've just found out that I have rectal cancer. I just had my endoscopic ultrasound and the Dx informed me that the tumor has not penetrated the wall and the lymph nodes are not involved. I still need to have a Pet Scan and CT scan. I'm asking why. Could the cancer have metastasized to other organs without being in the…

Diagnosed Two Years Ago Today
Yup, I was told I had colorectal cancer on New Year's eve day two year ago. I can still remember the whole thing. I had no idea so I was completely blindsided and I'd gone alone as nobody had told me to bring someone. His office is a 45 minute drive from our home in another town. I had to drive home alone and a snow storm…

Maybe colon again
Hi everyone, I am new to these discussions; and so hoping that you will bear with me a little. My story really started when I was 27 yrs old (many years ago); I had early stage cervical cancer and cervix was removed. Then when I was 35 years old, the gastrologist removed pre-cancer polyps requiring me to start getting…

Nearing end of treatment....feeling anxious
I was daignosed with stage 3 crc after surgery and pathology in May, 2015. Had 6 rounds of folfox, 5 weeks of xeloda and radiation, and now have one month left of 6 more rounds of chemo. I thought when getting this close to the end of treatment I would be happy. Maybe when you are fighting cancer in treatment there is…

Does five years mean five years?
My hairdresser's dad has Pancreatic Cancer, and his Doctor's gave him six months to a year. She went to visit him over Thanksgiving, and found him sitting in a chair. Her mum said, he just sits in the chair. My friend asked him 'Why are you just sitting in the chair, dad?' and he said 'I'm sat here waiting to die'. He was…

Scan has been scheduled!
Scan is scheduled on the 29th, will find out the results a few weeks later. I am on pins and needles! My husband has had 8 folfox treatments so far, hope the treatments worked! I know the cancer will always be there, but if it can be slowed down and give him more years I will be happy!

neuropathy
I am about to get my 7th treatment with full dose FOLFOX. I have numbness in my hands and feet. There is no pain. I get all the typical cold induced neuropathy for 4-5 days after infusion, and then those symptoms go away completely before my next treatment. Of those of you who stopped oxaliplatin due to neuropathy, how bad…

Six and a half years and counting.
It’s been six and a half years since my colon resection in which they removed a tumor from my colon the size of an orange and classified me at Stage 2A. I had a bumpy road with chemo, which I was unable to complete due to many adverse reactions. I'm now clear of cancer and never let a day go by without being thankful.…
