encouraging word?
Hi, all. I posted for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Been down in the dumps for a while. Just not feeling like there's anything to look forward to. Have a feeling my 'significant other'-- who I though was going to move here in August-- is going to bail on me. Just intuition. No friends (not a one) and no family here…

double mastectomy Friday
Has anyone in the group had a double mastectomy? I'm curious about how blood tests, blood pressure etc are administered if lymph nodes are removed in both arms - I always heard you should use the opposite arm - but in my case this may not be possible. Suggestions/experience? Thanks.

Question
My question is, how do you determine how long you are a survivor? Meaning, when someone says they are a 2, 3 or 4 yr survivor, how do they work that out? Thanks and take care.

Thanks for the work advice
I think I will try to go full time July 1 afterall. I proved I could work 45+ hours during everything, post-diagnosis, after surgery, 6 of 8 chemo treatments because I did want to keep busy and try to normalize my life thru it all. But when I was getting stressed from a new manager I thought "WHY am I putting myself thru…

Side Effects of Implant?
Has anoyone had a similiar situation? I had a mastectomy on March 26th. I had a saline pouch inserted, but not inflated. They do not know what it is and it will be a week before they go in to look…

Helping one's self
It is hard to overcome trouble and suffering. It seems easier to wallow in self-pity--no matter how deserving it seems. I have learned that to do so is pouring salt into my own wounds. I have been through the deepest pain and grief any soul should bear over these past years, so, I know what I am saying is from personal…

My mother and mother-in-law both had breast cancer 20 years ago. Both had one breast removed (chemo and radiation was given) and were both told they were cancer free -survivors. Now 20 + years later they were not cancer free. The cancer has spread very slowing into the skeleton bone structure of their body. My mother lost…
