Relief from Hot Flashes
I started Tamoxifen in June and have experienced Chemopause. I have hot flashes and night sweats "big time". I started taking Remifemin because I heard it was safe for Estrogen + BC suvivors. It contains an herb called Black Cohosh. It seemed to help with the flashes a little. Then in a conversation with a friend having…

Stage IIIC and in need of help
My mom just had a modified radical mastectomy after getting A/C and taxotere. It seems that her cancer was very resistant to the chemo. Her pathology report just came in after surgery and indicated that she had 13out of 16 positive nodes and her tumor did not shrink from the 5.5 cm. it was before. She is 54 and really…

My JP drains are FINALLY gone (yay!) and today was my first day of chemo. I'm tired, but other than that I feel basically ok. I've got a ton of meds to take to control nausea, etc, and so far they seem to be working. Does anyone have tips for making this time (chemo) as pleasant as possible? thanks! jill

LCIS plus
Well, my cousin didn't have to wait 10 days for the results of her stereotactic biopsy, she got them today. The main thing was the lobular carcinoma in situ. She also had some bonuses such as interductal hyperplasia and sclerosing adenosis among others. Has anybody dealt with any of this and how? Thanks. Susan

3 different path reports
My doctor has had my pathology report done 3 times. Each time it has come back different. Based on the last one, she has decided that I have to have Chemo and I cannot do Femara or arimidex. The 1st path was ER negative, PR 75%; the 2nd was ER 19%; PR negative, and the last one - are you ready for this? - ER negative, PR…

I completed chemotherapy for breast cancer in May 2003. Completed radiation treatments July 2003. Currently on Tamoxifen for 5-year regimen. Every doctor/nurse told me every hair would grow back. I am 42 and always had great hair prior to losing it all 14 days after first chemo. Has anyone else experienced slow regrowth?…

Stereotactic biopsy
My cousin, who helped me tremendously during my long treatment & recovery, had a stereotactic biopsy a few days ago and said it was the worst experience ever. She had 6 samples taken from one site and numerous tries to take samples from a second site to no avail. She was there over 2 hours and then developed an infection a…

I had a L mastectomy with silicone reconstruction in 1996. I have never been at all happy with the results. The implant which is 400cc looks like a huge misshapen blob high on my chest, it is not even circular. Now I am considering a prophlactic mastectomy on my R side with new reconstruction of both sides. The MD said…

I found a prominent lump in my breast three years ago that the dr told me was nothing because it didn't show on my mammo.…

My arm mobility is pretty good except raising my arm - when I raise it over a certain…

I had a lumpectomy in April and a axillary node dissection in May and am in the middle of chemo treatment. How do get over feeling your cancer was not as bad as others.
I have had several people that have had breast cancer and had to have breast removed. I was lucky that mine was caught in time, just the removal of tumor and lymph nodes, then 33 treatments of radiation. I have been clean for over 3 1/2 years. This feeling really bothers me.
