Breast Achey
I had a lumpectomy in January, finished chemo/radation in July and now on Tamoxifen. My question is this... has anyone experienced any pain or aching in their post surgery/treatment breast. It isn't horrible, just enough to annoy me and remind me of the cancer. I am going to see my oncologist in 2 weeks for a Tamoxifen…

Adriamycin and Cyclophosphamide
Yesterday was my first session A/C, highest dosage of each as my cancer tracers have not gone down enough during the first 12 session first 3 with taxol and last 9 with taxotere. Lucky me. First reaction was very positive. I have had extreme swelling on both ankles since the last two of the taxotere. By late afternoon the…

Man With A Mission-My Brother in Arms
I just cooked and ate dinner with my family. I had to come back and post this as I am so angry inside. Robert had a thoughtful positive post and most of what I saw on there was negativity. Why are you all so mad at the color pink? It's just a color. While I agree that some people take advantage of it, that happens in all…

BS and RO appointments today
I wonder if anyone else had to go back weekly for fluid to be removed from the surgical site where the lymph nodes were removed during a lumpectomy? This is my third time back to the breast surgeon. And the surgery was 4 weeks ago yet there is another huge sore lump where the tumors were removed. I thought I would feel…

6 month post treatment Onc. visit
I saw my oncol. for my 6th month post-treatment visit and everything is clear! As he said, there's no lumps or bumps! I have scar tissue from the radiation in my underarm and lateral side of my breast that should ease with time and massage. I have tried on scaling back on the Gabapentin that I'm taking for the neuropathy…

Oh, what a nigh!?!
What did I do wrong to deserve tonight? Strange situations here. Right now, hubby is blowing a gasket because he wasn't paying attention to the wood stove - he just started a fire, and it backed up. The house is filling up with smoke. Instead of warm and toasty, I'm opening windows. Secondly, I have a houseguest. A good…

What's Next?
I realize there are six-month checks and such, but is there any type of checks done fairly soon after a person finishes chemo and radiation? Does my radiation oncologist do nothing more than probably send a report to my oncolgist? I don't see the RT group doing anything more than they did, as they did weekly x-rays…

Looking
Ladies, I have news that will knock your socks off. My oncologist has been implicated in buying mis-labeled chemo drugs. These are drugs are not approved by the FDA an illegal. It didn't say the drugs were ineffective but misbranded. All my check ups have been fine for 2 yrs. now. Needless to say I'm looking for a new…

All over body pain after chemo is finished
Just some food for thought here. I completed chemo February - May 2012, and radiation from May thru June 2012. In February I was given Levoquin and a steroid at the beginning of each chemo process. I also had a Neulasta shot. Side effects of both Neulasta and Levoquin can be extreme body (bone and muscle) pain. I was an…

Flu shot anyone?
I have had a rough year with shingles, bacterial intestinal infection and infected cat bite. Just went and got my flu shot, because, I hate to admit this (lol), I think I might be immunocompromised. Katherine went and got hers to at Walgreens. Danny is next. My infectious disease physician friend says that he thinks the…

Does your doctor have a chaperone present when examining you?
How about a courtesy knock before entering the exam room? Almost universally, all medical staff will give a short courtesy knock prior to entering the exam room. Usually before the doctor actually examines me he will get a nurse to chaperone. The last 3 or 4 times I've seen the new NP instead of the doctor. The NP is…

Hi All I was diagnosed w BC in August of 2011. My 'hard' chemo was completed mid Feb, radiation 1st part of April. My year of Herceptin is over on 16 October. Port is coming out on the 26th. I am terrified of getting my hopes up that I will be free (hopefully long term).... Many think I should be so happy, so excited,…
