I felt so bad today
I was at the local grocery store today and was explaining about why I was being fussy about how much to put in each bag. I explained I had breast cancer and the surgery messed things up from the rib cage to the neck. The lady at the register, smiled and nodded. I knew she either knew someone with cancer or had it herself.…

Fluid in Lungs
My last BIG treatment was Aug. 27th. I was having shortness of breath and retaining a LOT of fluid so I had an IV to help rid my body of some of the fluid. My oncologist wanted a chest CT scan just to be safe. That showed a small blot clot so then onto blood thinners. Shortness of breath has continued and I complained…

implant to fail
I thought it would be just another routine appointment for the PS to take yet another look at my taking-forever-to-close wound. Not so. She removes a 'plug' which turns out to be exposed alloderm; leaving a hole where not only can I see the implant, but can actually touch it. This, I think, is not going to end well. Not…

Local News says New age guidelines for Mammograms
One of our local newscasts had info about mammograms and new age guidelines. They stated that women should be getting mammograms starting at age 50 and then have one every two years unless their is family history of breast cancer. Wow. So many of us are being diagnosed in our 40s for cancer (and I realize early ages, too…

I have been getting lidocaine IV infusions every 6-9 weeks for the past year. Last year I got a new pain doctor due to restructuring at the pain clinic.…

Surgery after chemotherapy?
Hi there- I'm new to this forum but not new to bc - I was diagnosed in early May w/invasive ductal carcinoma. I guess you'd call it triple positive; it's ER, PR & HER2 positive. No lymph nodes seemed to be involved except a couple of suspects toward the center of my chest that they don't want to remove. My tumor was over 5…

This has been a long month since stopping chemo. Yellowstone was wonderful, the fires started the day we were there and it was so clear. 2 days later we drove over the back side of the Tetons to a wall of smoke in Jackson Hole.
