Joint pain after Taxol
I know that one of the side effects of Taxol is joint pain. I had my first chemo this past Thursday and starting yesterday my joints have been very sore. It was worse today. I certainly don't want to seem to be complaining, especially when as far as side effect go this is nothing. It really is uncomfortable and I was…

WATCH OUT for GRAPEFRUIT?
I was told to stop eating grapefruit last year, at Sloan, because it can cause drug interaction problems. Important article, please read: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-2239520/Grapefruit-warning-Doctors-says-cause-dangerous-reaction-host-common-drugs.html Opinions? Has your Dr. mentioned anything about the…

Need Insight
Hello. I am new to these discussion boards and am looking for some help in clearing my head and making one of the toughest decisions I think I have ever been asked to make. I was diagnosed with infiltrating ductal carcinoma on 11/20/12. The tumor size is 2.5cm in my right breast. I did a BRCA test and it was negative.…

Dianehelen - how did today go?
Just to let you know I'm thinking of you. I hope that today went smoothly, and that tomorrow's surgery goes well. You will get through this! It is amazing to learn what we can cope with when we have no choice. Fear and tears are permissible, but know we are all here holding your hands through cyberspace. Alice

Triple negative high grade scary
I was recently diagnosed with stage 1a triple negative breast cancer after removal of lump that surgeon thought was fibroademona (so no lymph check yet). PET scan, MRI, and mammogram clear (thank GOD) . I still have to get genetic test, have masectomy if positive or surgery to get clearer margins and do sentinel biopsy of…

Is taxol really necessary?
I have high grade stage 3 breast cancer that had one lymph node which was cancerous. I've had 3 doses of chemo. Chemo sucks and I don't like the side effects. Thinking of not doing the taxol. They want me to have a dose once a week for 12 weeks, then radiation. How long do they make you wait prior to radiation. I don't…

Forgive me I have been a bad pink sister
But I always checked on you.. at a loss for words and heart breaking. I was just on the sidelines with my hands clenched into fists - frozen. Over the years, I got to know and love you. And it got to me more than I wanted to admit, even to myself. And as the time passed by it got harder and harder to come back... now on…

Is that what it is called? Anyway I got the tatoo's and markers but the marker washed off already. I swear, I DID NOT RUB! Now they said I have to go to a pretend session and get a mammogram at the same time. Then I am supposed to start the radiation the day after if all is well. Did anyone else have this? Or is it because…

My cataract surgery on Monday went well. I did not feel a thing and came home and slept for 5 hours. Went in this morning and the dr. took off the patch. He said it looked good. Tamoxifen and Wellbutrin
Hi I am new to this site and have been having problems getting some straight answers from "all" of my doctors on this issue. It has to do with taking Tamoxifen and Wellbutrin at the same time. I have been on both for one year and all my doctors had listed in their records that I was taking both but no warnings. Now the…

Happy News! I'm back on the ice!
I went and tried curling again tonight (that crazy sport of throwing stones down the ice while your teammates sweep madly). I was able to comfortably throw a few stones and sweep some other stones - no pain! This means I'll be able to join my team in a major tourney in Cleveland in 10 days! I'm not fully healed - still get…

False Info on Newsline 9 WAOW about Mammorgrams
I am not going to take it and didn't. Tonight our local news had a bit on the news about a study that came out that mammograms don't have enough radiation to cause cancer. The news bit was put out by the national ABC News (Tim or Tom Johnson...I have seen him before reporting Medical News). HOWEVER, Mr. Johnson CLEARLY…

Progress and a question on side effects
O.K. So I was so excited over being able to taste I failed to remember to mention something that is important to me. I first knew something was wrong with my body when the cancer expressed itself through my nipple. Being the ignorant male that I am, I let it go until the nipple started bleeding and wouldn't stop. It was at…
