    type of breast cancer
I had DCIS, lumectomy and radiation in 2008, it returned in 2010 and I had to have a mastectomy with reconstruction -dorsi flap surgery. Still going thru surgeries.

    DCIS recurrance
I have been recently diagnosed with DCIS agressive type and after breast MRI they see similar area in other breast so I am having another biopsy in that one. Was supposed to be scheduled for my breast conserving surgery already but this came up. How involved was your DCIS and how did it recurr, was it the same area and became invasive? I am very interested as I am trying to decide on breast saving surgery and masectomy. Thank you for any information you can give me, did you have radiation and tamoxifen afterwards?

    Dx
At age 46, 8/25/2010, initial diagnosis after biopsy showed LCIS with microscopic invasive margin. After lumpectomy 9/28/2010, pathology showed DCIS stage 0 and IDC stage 1, ER+PR+ and HER2-, neg lymph nodes and unclear distal margin. Second lumpectomy 10/29/2010, pathology showed additional IDC with unclear margin. Unilateral mastectomy was done with reconstruction and tissue expander, 12/16/2010. Pathology showed DCIS in a whole other quadrant.

    IDC invasive ductal
IDC invasive ductal carcinoma Stage 2 ER+ & PR+. Her2-. I was 66 when diagnosed in 2009. Had 2 surgeries, 8 1/2 rounds of chemo, and 33 radiation treatments. Had a raging infection at the surgical site and took antibiotics all thru chemo treatment. I have a low resistance to infection and working daily with diet and some exercise when I can do it to build up stamina, resistance, and energy. I decided to keep my natural color hair when it started to grow in and it is grey.
