At 41 I was diagnosed with lobular stage one. removed 23 nodes and they were clear. Six weeks radiation.
At 51 I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma - one invasive site and two in-situ sights in other breast. Mastectomy. No node involvement.
At 68 I have been diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma stage 3 behind the original scar sight. I have no nodes on that side, which was a good thing because there was nothing to carry the cancer to other parts of my body. Hopefully this is the end of bc for me.0 -
Twice
1. Age 65 - 0 Stage DCIS - Opted for double mastectomy because margins were not clear after 2 surgical biopsies - No chemo No radiation, No estrogen preventative drugs
2. Age 68 - Invasive DCIS - on scar - Less than 1% get a recurrence Call me rare! - No chemo - Yes Radiation - Yes estrogen preventative drugs but side effects. No longer taking the drugs. Looking into holistic methods and being watched very closely by all my doctors.
