I was 47 and was now a year ago that I first discovered something was not right. I can't believe how many of us there are, I never realized until it happened to me.
My heart breaks to see so many younger women going through this.
I was 42 when diagnosed in January of 2009. Mastectomy, Chemo and Radiation all done by July of 09. Now on Tamoxifen for 5 yrs and looking forward to reconstruction surgery sometime this year.0 -

I was 41 late August 2009. I had a lumpectomy and I just did my third A/C treatment. I'm stage IIA Invasive Ductal, ER+, PR+ and HER2+. I am also going through ovary suppression because my estrogen is off the charts. Have 2 kids already and just having my 42nd birthday, it will be OK not to have anymore. (The early menopause might stink)
I've been looking for a board like this for months! I'm glad I found you all.
Kim
I'm glad you found us too! Welcome!!!!!

I received dx in Jan 2009, had mast in March 09 Chemo April-June, reconstruction Oct 09, now on Femara. I agree no mammo before 50 is crazy!!!!!0 -

I was 34 at diagnosis in November 2008. I'm now 35. For all you youngens out there www.youngsurvival.org is a site focused on women under 40 with bc. Lots of issues such as fertility, dating, BRCA status, triple negative, etc. are discussed there, too.
Mimi
Hi Mimi,
My name is Jilly and I was Dx at 35 and really appreciate that young survival website you posted. How are you doing? Are you done treatment? My finish date keeps on getting pushed backa nd back due to complications...ugh...but, it'll get done!
Thanks again!0 -

I was 49 when I was first dx
I was 49 when I was first dx in 2001. Recurrance in 2009 at age 57. I am so lucky my kids are grown. I have so much respect and awe for the courage you young women have. My mother lost her battle at age 46 so every day I consider a gift from God and have faith he has a good plan for my life. Take care everyone. Marilyn0 -

Looks like I have the dubious honor of being the oldest one here dxed with bc. Dxed in Sept. just past my 70th birthday. Sorry for all you young women that will have this battle early in your life but you will get thru it and probably better than a lot of us older ones. But we're all in this together and are here for each other. Best wishes to all of you and may God enrich your lives with good health, good family and friends, and many good years to come. Love you all!0 -
