Hey, My mom has been having 3-4 days of not being able to hold anything down and her onc. has had her admitted to the hospital. So far they have done an x ray, no blockage seen. Next they did a scope and said nothing was there, but a few hours later they thought maybe there was something visible, so they'll do another…

Need support! My FIL was told he is terminal
My father in law was diagnosed with colon cancer in May. The tumor was large so they did chemo and radiation to shrink it. In the course of all this he also had to undergo triple bypass to his heart and so it delayed his cancer surgery. Finally last week, he went in for the surgery. The doctor found that it had spread to…

Sinking into depression?
About 2 weeks or so ago, my dad was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer that had already spread to his liver. He has 9 spots, some fairly large on his liver. The past several months, he's been working pretty hard, and although he showed some signs of fatigue, he still worked. The past month, he started taking daily naps and…

Newbie
Hi all. I'm a 53 year old guy who was diagnosed with colon cancer on 6/9 and had surgery 6/10. The surgeon said it was a 6 cm "stage 2" tumor and they checked 18 lymph nodes. The lymph nodes were clear. They started me on 24 treatments of 5-FU and Leucovorin. The oncologist said he could not guarantee it would help, but he…

Stopping Chemo
This is a rather strange scenario, so bear with me. I live in Florida and work in South Dakota. Long commute, but I spend 2-3 weeks in SD, then back home for a week. My chemo treatment of 5-FU is 24 treatments in a 3 week on, 1 week off schedule. I just found out my job here in SD is ending, but have found another in North…

Hello everyone!

COULD I HAVE COLON CANCER?
I am a three-year survivor of ovarian cancer. For the last 5 days I have had loose/mucousy stools, cramps like diahrrhea. Seems to come at different times, no real consistency, although I will notice it after a meal, within an hour or so. The cramping/pain is lower abdominal. I also have some rectal pressure because of it.…

Colon Cleansers - useless?
Colon Cleansing & Cancer Risk (Interview with Bernard Levin, M.D., June 3, 2003) They are everywhere. Some of them even have graphic pictures of the "results" produced by taking these…

Has anybody had adhesions after surgery?
I had surgery for colon cancer March 20, 2003. About a week ago I started feeling a sort of strain or pulling about 3 inches from my surgery scar. Friends of mine who have had surgery in the past said it sounds like adhesions. What do you think? My oncologist felt the area and said he didn't feel anything and didn't…
