Update on my dad

I just wanted to thank all of you for your well thought out messages. I posted a message about 2 weeks ago about my dad being just diagnosed with stage IV cancer. Since then, he has started his treatments. He goes 2 days with a chemo bag and he does this every 2 weeks. For the first couple of days he feels ok, and then the the latter part of that week he is usually run down and tired. He's also been nauseous twice which is odd for him, considering he his never like that. Anyways, the week after the chemo he was feeling better, was up at 5 am. and heading back to the office. Which is good. He's also been back to doing a few things he loves, like flying, and his ducks. He doesn't feel as tired that week and was getting back to his old self. tomorrow, he'll go in for treatments again. We're hoping he can continue the treatments, but, the doctors are keeping an eye on his blood count (?) which was pretty low last time, and they said if it got any lower, they may have to take him off treatments. So we are praying that everything will be ok.
Anyways, I just want to thank you for your stories, for they've given me hope. he's not very computer savvy and although I will try to direct him to this site, I know he would appreciate any emails, as it's the only thing he has really mastered. lol. I know he has expressed an interest in talking to people that are/were stage iv cancer. So, if you have a web page or an email address, I know he'd be very interested in talking to you.
Just email me at kimmee1997@yahoo.com
Thanks.

Great news, storm!
Dropping counts are a "normal" thing. I had to be transfused twice during my treatments because of low counts - but boy was I peppy afterwards. It was like someone completely recharged my battery!
Glad to hear your dad is out doing things he enjoys - that's so important! Hopefully you're doing things with him, too?!
Best wishes for continued improvements in your dad.

Glad to hear that your dad is doing well on his off week. thats ipmortant I found I had to do 2 weeks on 1 week off and I used to feel great on that 3rd week. When I say 2 weeks on I mean just 1 day in that week. It helped me to forward to that 1 week off. Keep up the good cheer. Your dad can email me through csn if he wants to talk or he can email me at work pbangle@fhmc.com thats because I'm on there more than here as I have to share the computer with my kids (lol)
Hugs
