Any SPANISH-SPEAKING survivor out there?
I'm a 36 year old breast cancer survivor from Spain and I read the boards here, but just discovered that Breastcancer.org has discussions in Spanish… If there are any Spanish-speaking survivors out there, let's talk in the Spanish boards if you would like!

I ran into something new with my port last week, and thought I would share in case it helps someone... The last couple of times we have tried to access my port for chemo, there has been a little difficulty getting good blood return. (They won't give me the chemo without good blood return, because the chemo is a vesicant.)…

Well, I thought I was in the clear regarding my PET scan---sigh :(
Saw my oncologist Tuesday. She told me my PET scan showed no evidence of disease in any organs or even bone (not even where the previous met was seen in T-12)! Yippee! BUT, she did say one lymph node in the affected side did show uptake and was enlarged. However, she said she was 99% sure it was probably swelling left over…

OT What are your hobbies? Your stress relievers?
I thought it would be fun to share our interests. My passion is native gardening. I am like the kid who says, "outside" all of the time, because that is where I want to be. I love native gardening because the native plants are usually covered with butterflies and bees and other beneficial insects. And it just makes me…

I like the extra hour to sleep in without actually losing the hour, but the rest of the day just drags, and it's dark so early! I can't remember - does every state change? How do you do with time change? I hate losing the hour in the Spring! Sue

It' snowing- yuck
It snowed yesterday, but didn't stick. However, woke up to white lawn, gone now. But it's snowing again. Makes me feel kind of edgy. Cabin fever can't start this early! I think about those in Sandy's wake and worry about the cold, and the forecasted storm. Sue

Paddling' like Madalyn
Years ago I heard a story about a frog named Madalyn. She fell into a pail of milk and could not get out no matter how hard she tried. She just knew that this would be the end, she would drown. But Madalyn just would not, could not give up. Exhausted as she was, she just kept paddling. She paddled all night long and to her…

repeat surgery after lumpectomy
I just had a lumpectomy 1.5 weeks ago and apparently she did not get clean margins and wants me to have a 2nd biopsy due to inconclusive calcifications in the tissue sample that did not shop up on the mammogram, and if that sample comes clean to do an additional surgery for clean margins. Feeling rather insecure about this…
