I wonder how she is doing and do not see recent posts. I know it has been a hard year for her. As one of my first connections on this board, I think of her often.

Post treatment anxiety
It has been awhile since I've written much, everything is going well, according to plan. I am 18 mos out from diagnosis and know that I am lucky, but don't feel complete, yet. Surgery has been my treatment plan with a few lumpectomies followed by a double mastectomy and reconstruction. I am still pretty sore. We are all…

terms and abbreviations...
Another post on the CRC board...from trainer...GREAT info!!!! As a fairly new Semicolon, I'm still trying to get a handle on all the shorthand used in messages here. So I was pleased to find this list of terms and abbreviations on The Colon Club site. If you see any errors in this list, please point them out. Hope this…

Update on my process and new Oncologist(sorry long)
I began this journey at a major cancer center in my area, (Orlando), MD Anderson, thinking they are so renoun they would be the best. My surgeon was ok enough, but if you recall, I had a less than encouraging experience with him and the 2 oncologists thru that center, as far as making me go on wild goose chases to get some…

numbness
I have developed severe numbness in my left hand. Has anyone experienced this kind of side effect from chemo? It is very hard for me because I am a guitarist that has been playing for 47 years. I used to play semi-professionally but now I just played in church. I love music and playing guitar was a very important part of…

Just Diagnosed with invasive mammary carsinoma with tubulo-lobular features
I was diagnosed two days ago. Decided on a bilateral mastectomy to take place mid-Dec. Never been sick or had any type of surgery. I am lost on what to expect. I decided to go on my planned vacation in early December. My family continue speaking about reconstruction at the time of the mastectomy. I am trying to learn as…

Got the results on line for MRI 12/27
Unfortunately, what I was expecting. There is increased metabolic activity in L3/4, 4/5, L5/S1, as well as in the T/ spine. Term used is 'worsening'. It is what was expected, but I was still hoping for arthritis instead:)) So I will still go fishing next week with my family at Lake Mead, it is warmer than here. My mobility…

I saw the doc today.
He thinks the shingles are back, and both ears are infected. So I have antibiotics and an anti viral. Hopefully, we caught the shingles early enough and there will be less pain. I'm kind of bummed about it and very very tired of all this. Even so, I wish us all a healthy and happy 2013. Hugs, Linda

Do you still have your titanium chip/clip in?
I think I have read on this site where some of you still have the titanium chip or clips in your breast. I wondered why you would still have it in. I had one placed in me to mark where the tumor was, but, it was removed during my lumpectomy, which it should have been. I guess my question is, why would or do you still have…

Now that we can post pictures again...THANK YOU, Mariam!
I was so frustrated not to be able to post a picture when my surprise package from mariam_11_09 arrived last week...but now I can finally share my fabulous dancing flamingo! Check out my Expressions page. A picture doesn't quite do him justice, because he actually dances when you shake him -- I can't get our kids (ages 14…

Santa Claus ran over me today YIKES! <('o'<)
Yes, Santa Claus! Can you believe it? My hubby and I went to the mall today because we still had some last minute shopping to do, and, thought we could fight the crowds. It was super busy, but, we were determined to get finished so we just kept plodding along, in this store, pick it up, go to that store, get that and so on…

Finally discharged by the surgeon
It only took 11 post-op visits (plus an additional surgery) but I've finally been discharged by my surgeon, back on to my regular annual mammogram/annual appointment with her schedule. However, I did learn something significant: my questionable mammogram that started this crazy journey may have been caused by trauma to my…

Reel Recovery
Yesterday while I was at work I was playing on the 'puter there and found the site for "Reel Recovery.org". From the info I found - it seems to be similar to "Casting for Recovery" but it is for all men who have/dealing with any cancer. It is a Retreat where they teach to fly fish - just as Casting For Recovery does.…

HAPPY 2013
Don't get here much anymore because the website seems to mostly send me error messages. So many of you gals have supported me thru thick and thin and wanted to stop by to say hello. I plan to update my photo with my gray hair and my soon to be 70 look. Have 4 beautiful grandchildren now and enjoying life one day at a time.…

A lesson in attitude....sorry, it's kind of long.
On Monday I went to the lab at Kaiser to get my blood drawn. As usual, I pulled my number and looked at the current number to estimate the wait for check in. Only 10 numbers ahead of me, not a bad wait. Shortly after that, a woman sat in the chair across from me, and started complaining about how long it was taking. "It's…

OT - Respect flashing lights!
On this Christmas Eve AND every day, I would like to remind everyone to be very vigilant/careful when approaching flashing lights on the side of or a road. Neither the law enforcement personel or the first responders or the tow drivers want to be there but they are there doing their jobs. This is a subject that is 'near…

Thank you, CSN for fixing order/chrology of replies
At least the replies are back in a reasonable order again. However, are our previous emails lost to the ether forever? What about friends and favorites? Here's hoping that the bugs are ironed out soon.
