Meant to post this Saturday but the site just wouldn't load. July 13th my Mom hit the 12 year mark from when she had her mastectomy. She actually had 2 different cancers! She is now 80 years old and going strong. When I went thru my bout with BC she was my model of how you get thru it with grace and dignity.

Udate on Doctor's Appointment.
I saw my Oncoloyist Tuesday and I was informed that my cancer is still local. This is very good news for me because I was told that the chances of the cancer returning in the very same location is 1out of 9. He also stated that I do not have to have chemo only radiation for about 6 weeks. I am getting a second opinion…

Update on my Reconstruction
Hello all! Today I had my post op appointment. The surgeon said that this situation has never happened before. He said that the tissue expanders that I had in ended up pushing my rib cage in even further. As a result, the concave deepened. He wants me to wait three months to see how much the ribs have rebounded - and to be…

Turned Another Corner
Hi, big thanks to you that reponded to my last posting about the intense pain while healing up from the thoractomy and taking out 15% of my left lung. I slept in bed for the first time. I slept for about 3 hours without waking up which felt wonderful. It was bad, however, because I can't get out of bed by myself so I had…

Last taxotere tomorrow
Say a little prayer or send some healing vibes! Last one kicked my butt soooo bad. Today is the first day I felt at all like myself and I strongly suspect that is my pre-chemo steroids. Hoping this one will be more tolerable. At least it is the last!

My Reconstruction Surgery didn't go well :(

I am not taking my regular antioxidant regimen during chemotherapy, but I had researched the need for B6 and B12. Has anyone had this experience? Also, using L-glutamine powder has been recommended for mouth sores during chemotherapy. I am using a baking soda/salt water rinse after every meal, but should I do this more…

Dealing with extreme fatigue
I went through Stage IIIc breast cancer in mid-2011. I had a mastectomy, chemo and radiation. My treatment ended at the very end of 2011. That was about 20 moths ago, and I am still so exhausted that I sleep 10 hours every night and often take 2-hour naps. And no, I am not depressed. I went to my oncologist for a regular…
