why cant I just be a miracle case?!?!?!?! :(

in Breast Cancer #1
My markers went up again highest ever, now 182!!! My oncologist still seems optomistic, always does. She said "honestly she is surprised I am still here that there is not much study on cases with cancer cells in the CF fluid because patients dont usually last more than a couple of months" Her words!!!! Kinda set me back in a good and bad way.... good because I am here bad because makes me wonder how long I will be! It will be a year in May since they found it my my CF Fluid. CF fluid cancer is what got Mama G. I am having my pet scan on 3/8 get the results on 3/15...... fingers, toes and eyes crossed!!!!!!!!!!!!

    And for what it's worth...my oncologist told me that the tumor marker test isn't as reliable as they'd like...it has a high incidence of giving false positives..

    thanks everyone, love you all too, more than words can ever express. My onc agrees Nancy about the tumor markers but she says and it seems to be true in my case and emphasises (sp??) that the markers have followed so well with MY tumors growing and shrinking and they have. She ended the meeting saying I have only had 2 treatments of the Gemzar, missing one week due to low counts, so she is still very optomistic. Just set me back a little....

    I'm crossing it all and praying as well! You are more than a number, you are an individual and each on of us are unique your situation could be the miracle one why not right! I am glad your onco is optomistic I just wish she had been a bit more gentle about what and how she shares stats with you.

    There are always miracle
    There are always miracle cases. I knew a woman who lived 20 years past what they thought she would with a rare cancer in her sacrum. They would tell her the same thing - surprised she was still with us. Be strong!
