Am I The Oldest One On This Site?
And..I lead a very active life. So to the younger ones, don't be afraid of my age.

54 here...but there are days....
when I feel like 100!!!!
THIS DAY, however, was NOT one of them....it snowed again...and, I must admit...I went out and played in it!!! What fun!!!! And there is a hill down the street where kids were sledding...GREAT joy!!!

I'm 57
I'm 57, Janelle, and as far as I'm concerned, 69 is not old at all! Some of my closest friends are in their 70s & 80s--wise women! One of them, mid-to-late 70s, travels all over the world--she just returned from a trip to Australia.
People should not write off anyone, male or female, who is over over 50, or over 60, or over 70, or over 80, or over 90 . . . . the wisdom acquired over a lifetime should not be ignored!

The way I look at age is it is only a number. What really matters is how you feel!</♥</font>

I thought I was the oldest ... but you've got me beat by a few years. I'll be 66 in March ... and I too and still working full time as an Administrative Assistant. There are times when I can't believe I'm this old ... there are other times when I feel 166. Chemo brain scared me to death because I truly thought I was losing my mind. I had no memory and no concentration or focus. Thank goodness I have a terrific boss who had more patience with me than I could ever imagine. I finished chemo the end of May and was terrified that alzheimers had hit me ... hard... but I am slowly feeling some of those brain cells get into gear again.
It sure is an adventure ... isn't it????
hugs.

almost the same age, Janelle
I'll be 69 next week - this winter I've been feeling much older, and really dreading that new number. At the same time, I'm SOOO happy that I'm still around, and hope to be for many years to come. I'm no longer working; retired at 65, well before all this started and did quite a bit of fun traveling before my dx last April.
Everyone, just remember - ACS is the Official Sponsor of Birthdays!

You look fantastic!!
I am going to be 57 this month, and I never gave much thought to age. A positive attitude and taking one day, and problem at a time is the key. My wonderful mom will be 82 (you would never know it) and her and my husband are my best friends in the world. Stay active like you are!! It's always nice to read posts like yours. By the way, I'm Italian and Polish also. Best cooks in the world!! God bless all of you!!0 -
I'm only 63 1/2. My body
I'm only 63 1/2. My body tells me that I'm 'old' (the last 6 months with 5 of them being Chemo hasn't helped) but I will never let who I am get 'old'. 3 of my G-grandmothers lived healthy into their mid to late 90's. 1 was still riding her mare daily (aside of course as she was a "lady") until the mare got injured and had to be retired but Mom F died before her new horse was shipped down from KY.0 -

I thought I was about the only one in my sixties, I'm thrilled to know I'm not. But I've been shocked to see so many young women in the 30's and 40's with bc. My neice was 44 when dx.
I was very lucky and retired when I was 55, who hoo! I think we grew up seeing our Grandmothers who at 60 were old, not so anymore. And I feel 20 or 30 years younger than 67. It's all about attitude. My body is healing from these past 7 months but the beast is not going to get my spirit, at least not on most days!
Hugs all, Judy :-)0 -

Janelle I turned 67 on Jan
Janelle I turned 67 on Jan 15. You have 2 years on me. I worked full time up till August of last year when I had my 2nd surgery. I'm full blooded Italian/Sicilian. I also have lots of drive and spunk. Chemo has kicked my butt but not my spirit. There are ladies on this website who are older than us, but you'd never ever know it unless they tell you.0 -

I hope that I am as lucky as your grandmother to be as agile and mentally alert when I reach that age. She certainly is your inspiration. How lucky you are to have her. I certainly would love to meet her.
Age is a number. Unfortunately some of my girlfriends were already old (mentally) when they reached the age of 40.
A person must be positive and not afraid to age. Embrace life and all it offers you.
Fondly,

I think I might be thearbojenn said:Years in life
Abraham Lincoln once said: :"It's not the years in your life that count: it's the life in your years." Since I can't quantify the life in my years, I have concluded that I am ageless!
I think I might be the oldest one here, I'm just past 70. Most days I feel like a 40 year old, seems like that was my prime time. I have a lot of things to contend with, diabetes, asthma, high bp, fibromyalgia, glaucoma, and now bc but I'm determined to live each day to the fullest and keep looking ahead. I like to think I'm ageless but there are days when its not easy. My advice is "Never give in and Never give up". Just keep putting one foot in front of the other one. May we all have many more birthdays in the coming years.0
