Hi Sunny,
I am cancer-free!! Thank God!! I lost all my hair. But having hair all your life and then losing it is very traumatic. I had the same feelings with chemo knowing that I would lose all my hair. It is tough!! But always look at the positive. Be prepared by having your hats, wigs, scarves, etc,. and make up your face as you feel like to keep yourself in a good place. Remember, After chemo, it will grow back. My hair is growing back, not as fast as I would like but it is better than it used to be. I am wearing wigs, hats, and scarves. It is up to each individual where they are in being confident to let it go. I am now at a place where I will not wear anything on my head sometimes, after going to Camp Bluebird with other survivors. It's Okay to be not Okay sometimes but do not stay there. You are stronger than you think!! thank you for sharing your feelings ❣️

Hi jpallone, I take both anastrozole and Verzenio. They're two different drugs, very often taken together as I understand it. In fact, before Lilly (Verzenio maker) would ship the medication, I was required to have a pretty lengthy phone consultation with a Verzrnio pharmacist, who asked whether I was taking an aromatase inhibitor (which is what anastrozole is). I couldn't really explain what an aromatase inhibitor is, but again, it appears from my reading on various trustable websites that Verzenio and anastrozole are very often taken together.

It's completely understandable to feel scared and uncertain about starting treatment for breast cancer. Losing your hair and dealing with side effects are significant challenges, even when you know your health is the priority. It's okay to feel this way, and you're not alone. Lean on your supportive coworkers and remember that it's normal to feel overwhelmed. You are strong, and it's okay to let yourself have these moments. You're taking brave steps, and acknowledging your fears is part of that strength. Give yourself grace and know that expressing your feelings is a healthy way to cope.
