Hope you are feeling better soon. This darn change of weather does it for us. If you do get to go to the beach - have fun.

Walk
Did my daily treadmill. Yesterday did just under 11,000 steps.
Pete don't rush getting to exercise too fast. You just had surgery. Hope you are feeling better each and every day though.
It is a bummer when you want to exercise and the bathroom wins

dear graci,
lovelly to have you on the team for the long long haul.
yes its 4am, no sleep again for this big aussie.
today i must have done 100 loo visits easy.
so that counts at least as 100 squats, 100 situps as i am laying down and 100 sprints as yes i am sprinting to the loo.
been in a huge amount of pain today, been cranky and sulky and the thought of nthis continuing brings me to tears.
again kids in bed early, wife and I watching a movie. she sees it, i hear it from our one and only loo.
all the doors between loo and where i am are opened, all the chairs are put it, the loo seat is down. no accidents because i can run like the wind. privacy got ditched along time ago.
could not even manage a juice or chinese tea today. pathetic. this reconnection is another challenge just like my survival course.
i have been able to type this without going, now thats a good sign.
hugs to all, especialy our exercisers.
pete
ps kim thanks for sharing your experiences, i would not wish this on anyone, that said at least i am not alone in this ordeal.0 -

Yup those 100 squats count too. And the times that you think you need to go and get to the bathroom fast only to discover when you get there the urgency has let up some.
Sorry you are having difficulty and you aren't feeling well today. Hope the pain gets better and you will be able to sleep.
Hugs!

Treadmill
OK did 39 minutes of treadmill today. Was a nice exercise too, bumped it up .1 mph. Really no big deal but I'm slowing bumping up speed. I'll do this speed for awhile and if it doesn't bother my back, might bump up again. Exercise for life. It looks good on you

Walk
Well very proud of myself yesterday did 13,400 steps, but today only walked about 25 mintues. Just got caught up doing other things and never went back on the treadmill for a second time today. Get mad at myself when I'm not doing my usual 35 minutes or more a day. Had a bad "loo" day as Pete would say Sometimes just have to take that tea in order for me to go and then - oh well just squirts of a little amount and then again in 2 minutes. Oh this disease is awful, but I'm getting out there doing when I'm able and that's what counts

Don't push it. You will get there when you can. Chemo wrecks everything. Glad you are giving it a great try. Yup the sphincter surgery was a great saving grace, but also a bigger problem than anticipated.
Hugs to you Gracie! Kim0 -

i dream of soft. i feel like i pass massive rough brick poos. when i look they are tiny little pea poos. its amazing something so small can causse so much pain.

stretching calfsunknown said:This comment has been removed by the Moderator
I'm a fan of starting slow, and doing more than just walking/running/treadmill exercise, but a variety of things, including various stretches. I was doing 20 minutes/day 25 years ago, and I've worked up to an hour and 20 minutes, now (I'm 69) --- that is pretty gradual. And I made a lot of progress when I went from just jogging, about 8 years ago, to add various calisthenics. For calfs, I do what you may see runners do before a race: lean forward with your hands against a wall and step backwards until your calf muscles stretch out a little.
