What do we have in common - revised questions

If you would like to help me with a little survey, cause I am curious to what we may have in common that has trigger our diagnosis. If we all look at the answers it may help. The only two questions my doctors asked was did I smoke and did I drink. And I was a smoker and light drinker. So they said that is why I got this. But, since then I have found people that do not smoke and are light drinker, so what is it. Copy and paste below.

Interesting survey..Like you I was a smoker but had not had a drink in over 3 years prior to my diagnosis. Naturally, answering yes to smoking the doctors said this was the cause of both of my cancers.

HPV Testing
With the large amount of people on here being tested and diagnosed of having HPV+ derived cancer, that would be the first thing that you would think a MD would check for these days. When I mentioned to my ENT that I had not been a smoker or tobacco user, HPV was the first thing he felt was a probable cause of my tonsil cancer.

One other question that has not been brought up, but is thought to be included in the high incidence of HPV derived H&N cancers. The thought of HPV derived cancer over taking tobacco related H&N cancer. Is from changes in society habits, less tobacco use due to education on the dangers of tobacco, and the more common exceptance and practice of oral sex in the last few decades.

So to me, even though it's a potentially sensitive subject, another question would be;

As John mentioned the oral sex part of the equation as far as our age group is concerned. My wife believes she was the main cause of my getting cancer. Has anyone else's wives wondered that?

I will either do a spreadsheet or I am trying to find a Free online Survey we can send the link and people can then anonymously fill in information but even this data here is interesting.
