Join us Walking, Swimming, Cycling, Weights, Paddling, Jogging and get SURVIVAL BOOST

This post started out as walking, but we are an open minded bunch and now we have 4 exercise types listed in the title. Just move if you can.

We also have the unique 100,000km 30 year clinical trial being run here. will anyone make this target, dare is say even earlier than 30 years. It would be just so amazing. Obviously we will all have to live that long to get an invite to the party.

In Sydney Australia, sylvania to sutherland. Bottle and all.
This is the walking post. I am walking to the naturopath right now.
I feel fine, with energy just bad diarrhea. Its good having a bag, I don't have to find a tree anymore. haha

If you have some energy and are well come for a walk with me today. A walk around the world if you will for 10 minutes to 5 hours whatever you can manage. going to do this everyday.

I used to hear " an apple a day keeps the doctor away "

Now I say to myself " a walk a day keeps the monster away"

search on exercise colorectal and recurrance, for details.

come on couch potatoes up and addem and move.

love to all,

Pete

ps I am out the door right now.

http://www.cancer.gov/cancertopics/factsheet/prevention/physicalactivity
1. What is the relationship between physical activity and colon cancer risk?
Colorectal cancer has been one of the most extensively studied cancers in relation to physical activity, with more than 50 studies examining this association. Many studies in the United States and around the world have consistently found that adults who increase their physical activity, either in intensity, duration, or frequency, can reduce their risk of developing colon cancer by 30 to 40 percent relative to those who are sedentary regardless of body mass index (BMI), with the greatest risk reduction seen among those who are most active (3–7). The magnitude of the protective effect appears greatest with high-intensity activity, although the optimal levels and duration of exercise are still difficult to determine due to differences between studies, making comparisons difficult. It is estimated that 30 to 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity per day is needed to protect against colon cancer (6, 7). It is not yet clear at this time whether physical activity has a protective effect for rectal cancer, adenomas, or polyp recurrence (3).
Physical activity most likely influences the development of colon cancer in multiple ways. Physical activity may protect against colon cancer and tumor development through its role in energy balance, hormone metabolism, insulin regulation, and by decreasing the time the colon is exposed to potential carcinogens. Physical activity has also been found to alter a number of inflammatory and immune factors, some of which may influence colon cancer risk.

i did a good walk with dogs this morning and had a lovelly breakfast of fruit salad and sated mushrooms and tomatoe at this cafe about an hours walk away with a sexy blonde.

She turned out to be my wife. It bucked down rain and we enjoyed our time alone under this big umbrella. It was very nice.

The walk is from my house, over a bridge, across a big park.

hugs,
Pete

what a milestone,
I did do some walks this week yesterday and the day before.
we are packing to go away camping.

I will live and fruit and veg and whatever fish I can catch spearfishing.
It should be a pretty low protien diet based on my skills.

cannot go snorkeling with the chemo bottle, dam.

1000 posts thats a great goal, I wonder if this board can handle it. We had a slow start but I think our board is getting the message and getting out and about, after we get too 200 lets share our passion with exercise for the breast cancer board. We can then have some friendly competion board the boards.

Breast cancer was clearly indicated for exercise benefit.

hugs to all,
and great exercising.

Pete

Ps if your feeling unwell do try exercising, maybe a gentle walk or a good talk is the best you can do. even a good talk exercises our brain.

Well, I went on a little walk today. It was very short, but I haven't been walking outside at all, so I was glad I did it.

Still pluggin away here - have not ridden in a couple days as my new meds have kicked up my BP a little - need to get that figured out....

Supposed to hit 60 tomorrow - I'll be in Boston for my weekly ritual visit for the clinical trial.

Hope to be back on the bike Wed. Getting ready for the American Lung Association's Trek Across Maine in June - should be fun and a goo fund raiser for a good cause.

good morning movers and shakers.

Pepe your an inspiration to us all. Thanks.
the 53 percent is real.
So lets keep moving if we can.

God has helped me.
And i have helped me.
Can you believe i was spear fishing yesterday for 2 hours in strong currents and lovelly sunshine. Back in my underwater world. So many fish. Turtles. Eagle rays. My mate dave and i swam out to this off shore reef. I only dived to around 10 meters. Got 3 nice breams to take home to family which we enjoyed at dinner. It was an amazing workout. I can spearfish with the bag after a few adjustments.

Super Fresh . Nutrious and healthy food. Obtained by exercise. Its still only 3 full days after chemo finished and i have health and energy . Its unbelievable. Gee i missed my old adventureous life. I forgot how much. I am healthier now than any time in the last 15 years.

I posted from sunrise the day after chemo. I did an amazing challenging 4 hour hike where i was lost in the bush. Scrambling up rock faces. Climbing through brambles. I felt like bear grills. I called the park rangers a few times when lost on my on bush phone. I hoped my energy and luck would hold out. It did.

We still have another wonderful weeks camping to go. I don't want to leave. This place is so good for my soul. Natural beaty everywhere. And lovelly people to share it with.

I firmly believe we can bring out the best in each other. And help us live as well as we can. Our friends passing like john and soon kerry are not sad but joyous. They lived well so well. Its easter after all and for me in death we celebrate our life. i do cry for john's little son. Every boy needs a dad.

I know my friends would appreciate us exercising to survive.

Now i have this strange fighting attitude i thank kerry and john for. I hope we appreciate and share it together.

Love to all.
Pete
ps i was disappointed my tea post got pulled. Greta does not know the special effort i went to get the tea formula and to share it in good faith for the few that were interested. But life is to short to worry. Its in the past. Pm me if your interested.

I haven't gotten out to walk much...either it's raining or I'm too tired from all the gardening I've done. So, I guess gardening is my exercise! Three hours digging yesterday :)

Feel better with the BP meds on board - now if I can only sleep.

I didn't walk today, but I did have to go up to my church to set up some things for tomorrow. I ended up having to walk up and down the steps between the 3 floors several times, so I think I got a good little bit of exercise.

*hugs*

we can somehow count exercising our souls by going to church. this thread is getting all
encompassing.

i walked wife my wife for 5km to the town near where we are camping along the beach.
had a healthy breakfast and jiuce and walked back.

so its 10km.

then i read for a few hours and lunch and then a big chemo afternoon nap.
hopefully my last.

i woke up to a stunning sunset and them wife and daughter caught 3 fish for dinner.
two more days to go.

hugs to all and lets get walking or exercsing whatever turns you on and gets us moving.
i can also recomend moderation and care when undertaking our exercise. i have strained chest a little with loading the spear gun on my chest, i have not crack ribs, but may have come close. also my leg is still sore where i fell hard in the bush the day after chemo. so just be careful and do not follow my adverturous example or you maybe nursing aches and bruises like i have been.

pete

ps 130 posts is pretty good

My plans of last days since I'm I'm on a SPA hotel ,: Healthy breakfast , then go to the beach to have sun bath , is steel windy and cold but we found a nice place leeward to a rock! then a 3km walk on de beach quite a lot without shoes!.then a healthy meal ,grilled vegetables an fish!, then a nap.
After that a relaxing massage ,and for finishing 1 hour of swimiming pool ,jakuzzy, bubble bath a and cold and hot showers .It's exhausting , hope it counts for the milage!.After this another nap and going to dinner some with friends and siblings which have houses around here! I'm starting to like it!.
What do you think does it count as exercise ?.
Take care!
