Looking for a Bay Area urologist in Kaiser for Da Vinci RP. My urologist has done the procedure about 25 times, and he's probably good but I'm a little nervous about the lack of experience. I've read Patrick Walsh's Guide To Surviving Prostate Cancer and he recommends at least 100 surgeries. Anybody have a recommendation…

Radiation side effects and when
Just started radiation therapy (IMRT) post da Vinci surgery (5 down, 33 to go). I know the side effects vary and may or may not (usually may) happen. What I have heard is that most do not have effects until the 20-38 day range. Is this true? And when did you first experience effects, and what are the most common? My guess…

another reason to think twice prior to surgery--Peyronie's disease
I read this new report from the prostate cancer info link, doesn't surprise me, and believe me it is the worst possible disease, it's an autoimmune disease where the body attacks the penis. This report says the risk after RP increases by double or three fold. Peyronie’s disease (PD) is a clinical condition characterized by…

I am sure many of in the days leading up to our PSA test our thoughts flow like a river….We all have a tale to tell and some of us are better or worse off than others but in the end we all share a common disease and a common goal and that is to keep the beast at bay. I have been dealing with the knowledge of the beast…

Survey for you Dry (& Wet) Guys
I am wondering about something my new uro said the last time I saw him. He said there is a connection, somehow, between those all important nerves important to sexual function and the sphincter muscles that control the bladder and leakage. For the Dry Guys: When you had surgery, where nerves on both sides spared? For the…
